Ngl, having OoT, Ravenous and Kirby all in sequence is pretty exciting to me, sure it's nothing particularly new but still from stuff I love. But I also have quite the backlog so I don't particularly stress over some spacing between releases. I've abandoned PS since last gen, so there's that...

I definitely have preferences though, as I tend to gravitate towards the "expressive blank slates" and "fully authored" opposites. Also I might be a hypocrite cause I definitely draw hard lines against certain games for different reasons, even entire genres (like most online multiplayers)

Personally I'm glad I don't draw hard lines, because I'd be frustrated thinking about dismissing so many variables just because I have a "type". It helps that I don't find relatability particularly relevant to my tastes, although I certainly appreciate when it fits.

If we're just talking about influence... Well, even less so lol Og OoT literally shaped how 3D games have been made since, a remake today can't have that level of influence. BotW got close, and it was a paradigm shift in itself.

There's no way. Both by virtue of being a remake, and because the way we judge games in a post-social media world is inherently different. I expect it to rate high, but even if it turns out to be the perfect remake, there'll inevitably be a few contrarian reviews.

It really just depends on the people you're talking to. If it's people I don't know too well, or that I notice are *really* intense about the wording, I avoid it. In my closer social circle though, it's 100% encouraged. Gender neutral "girl" too tbh, it hits different from "dude" regardless

Yeah that's a good sign. I just hope it won't be as offensive as the ride one, because that's genuinely the worst official Ghidorah design I've ever seen.

One of my favourites ngl, it's a shame it never got used in something more substantial. Even if the rumoured Shin sequel never ends up coming out, I'd hope for a Shin short film at the very least, eventually.

Unfortunately I'm convinced the bat wings are here to stay. It's frustrating because imo it misses what makes Ghidorah stand out from any other dragon design, but people loved the kotm one so... At very least, I hope the crescent horn is back.

It's not easy to balance what fans think they want and what actually works. I think TotK' issues had more to do with constraints related to the BotW structure than them not actively listening. I expect the next game to be evolutionary still, yet feel quite different.

Elden Ring proved that weapon durability isn't really necessary for a satisfactory loop in an open world game. However, From games also have a lot more combat depth.

I'm really curious to see what they're gonna do with it in the next game. I think their take is very valid and it works in game, but the common criticism that it devalues important weapons like the Master Sword is also absolutely true. I genuinely don't know if there's a happy medium.
