@kitlangton.bsky.social's effect.institute is freaking _insane_. This, this is how you do an interactive course and make it fun. Like, really fun. The level of detail and polish here makes this look deceptively simple. But there is true craftsmanship here. Bravo sir. Bravo.

Tell me you’re in Sweden without telling me you’re in Sweden.
A bag of dates with ”cinnamon bun” flavoring, which might just be the most Swedish thing ever.

I can’t stop giggling about this. My wife has excellent taste in internet memeage. Perfection. I also desperate want this shirt.
Photo of a young man taking a selfie in a mirror, wearing what is supposed to be a fan T-shirt of the classic movie Alien, with the tag line: ”In space, no one can hear you scream.”. The image is in a collage with the left side showing the full image and the right side showing a zoomed in version of the T-shirt.

Above the photo is a text that reads: ”PSA do NOT buy an Alien shirt from Temu because wtf is this”

Upon closer inspection of the second zoomed in frame, it’s clear the shirt actually reads:

”ALAN

in space, nobody can hear you in space”

When your wife knows exactly what you need for Father’s Day, and how nerdy you are. Happy Father’s Day to my fellow fathers!
Photo of The Happy Socks Special Edition Star Wars™️ Collection box, a box of Star Wars themed socks. On top of the box is a pair of Darth Vader-themed socks with multi-colored biker flames starting at the toes and going up passed the heel, culminating in a portrait of lord Vader himself, in front of a backdrop of yellow flames. At the top of the sock (barely visible in frame) on the front is the Star Wars logo in classic yellow.

I was going to note on these things well, so rather than doing that I will just show how I like to play around with the contrast to find things that work _while_ having a visual reference on the page. You may know this already but might be useful for someone else. This is a hidden gem in Chrome!
Screenshot of chrome developer tools and its color picker open displaying the contrast ratio accordion menu opened. The pane shows the current text link color contrast issues and white visual lines that indicate where the closest areas of contrast compliance are to reach AA and AAA levels contrast ratio according to WCAG guidelines.

Unpacked this old gem.

@benleonard.bsky.social I love mitos so much. If I could I would spend all day on here. This beaut’ popped out after playing with some of the demos from play.ertdfgcvb.xyz :
ASCII art with black and green depicting abstract shapes with smooth curves, almost looks like a map of sorts

Where did all the accessibility experts at Apple go? This new UI is barely legible as it is… and just imagine if they hadn’t decided to put that red image on the far left instead…
Screenshot of an iPhone simulator with the new Apple UI update. It illustrates the new glass effect and how it causes severe contrast and legibility issues when the user scrolls over images. Specifically an overlay menu with the glass effect causes an icon with a red color to become barely legible when moving/scrolling over an image.

Friday in the woods.
Photo of a road in a pine forest. Two distinct tire tracks mark the road. A bit of blue sky is visible through the canopy in the distance.
