It's only fair that I show how Elsie used to look in the past. Seeing this now reminds me that I forgot to give her freckles. UGH, I'll do them next time. As you can also see, her hair used to be long, similar to Aquila. Then I cut it short, and she looks a lot better. I'm surprised it works-

Slow and steady, wins the race. Or so the saying goes, as I slowly work on references for my characters. And this week's focus is Elsie, Charles's secretary! She isn't a fighter. She's just an artist who has to write up reports and financial statements for the group.

A page dedicated to Elsie, a pine marten secretary.

Top left image shows her in full colour, and in a pose that references my previous attempt at drawing her. It's meant to showcase her flair. To her right are sketches where I was attempting to get the hang of her design, as she is an Axe original design, not an adopt design.

The top-middle page shows her without clothes. She's really awkward about being nude, especially without her glasses. So many things are a blur-

The top-right sketches depict Elsie with different styles of spectacles. The left one has circular rims, while the right one has sharp triangular rims. The bottom sketch shows her hair when viewed from behind.

The bottom-left sketch features three headshots of Elsie hanging out with Munais and Aquila. Girls just wanna have fun, ya know?

The bottom-middle sketch shows Elsie at her computer, where she's about to crank out another 10,000-word fanfic based on her favourite TV show. I don't know what her favourite TV show is.

The bottom-right sketch shows Elsie cowering while a monster with long stalked eyes searches for her. A mollusc-shaped body can be seen poking out. It's okay, Elsie won't be digested by this monster. She would be shrieking and throwing stationery at it.

Luckily for me, I had shared Entry 1 of monsters that my characters would encounter! So have entries 2, 3, 4 and 5! I will slowly work on these entries over time. There may be entries featuring bigger monsters later on, but I want to focus on little ones that aren't serious threats yet. Maybe.

Entry Number 2: Risen.

Your typical zombies. I had the problem of wondering how a land could have so many dead bodies littering everywhere. If there were a lot of dead bodies, there would be a decomposition issue.

Entry Number 3: Leech.

These tiny critters are not as harmful as they look. They're lethal in large groups, but when encountered alone, they're treated as normal leeches.

In some instances, Charles is able to pick up a plump leech for a quick snack. No one is amused by this, but he's enjoying it pretty nicely.

Entry Number 4: Mudmen.

I don't even know how this monster exists. I just wanted a boring monster that isn't a zombie, and it had to be bulky. I did enjoy drawing that little comic of an unfortunate person's last bird watching session.

Entry Number 5: Spirits.

A lot of experimentation occurred. There are 6 types of spirits on this page:
- #1 is the skull of some horned animal. There are four flames floating around it. No idea what it was. I was using Castlevania "Curse of Darkness" or "Lament of Innocence"'s Spirit entries.
- #2 is the head of a chicken. There are three flames floating near it.
- #3 is the head of a cow. There are three flames floating around it.
- #4 is a weird blob ghost, with spooky sharp hands.
- #5 is the skull of a canine. It is now inside a fire-like energy.

They're not ghosts. But I wanted to experiment with a type of life that's often taken for granted: livestock! Now I can have undead livestock float around and chase after my characters~ They can still be smacked with a sword, but it's unnerving to see a floating animal head rush at you.

I also included a bit about ghosts in this entry. Ghosts are rare in my setting (surprise!), so almost all of my characters have never encountered one. Not even the bit with Roslan and Charles here, as the latter explains that it was only a memory of a person who once stood there.

**Rant incoming**

I like to imagine that there is a variety of ghosts, not just "DEMONS!! SATAN!!!" like what a lot of dudebro ghost hunting groups do these days. You'd be surprised how many Satans are out there, or how so many people are so special enough to warrant Big S's attention.

I built a Monkey King today. And I am thrilled at how he turned out after putting him together! The advertisement lied about not needing nippers, though, but I came prepared. Cleaning up the nubs was thankfully the easiest part of his build. My childhood hero. #Blokees #SunWuKong

I had been requested by @konimisii.bsky.social to draw the monsters that warrant my characters to know how to use weapons. I honestly don't know how many would I draw, but I love me a good monster for my characters to deal with. This is only the beginning.

A few sketches of the monsters that my characters encounter in their work. The first two (Shadow Cat Thing & Large Bird) were my attempts to draw some monsters. Then I decided to begin with a simple little guy, much like how many Castlevania bestiaries begin: A fly.

The flavour text nearby reads "Insects influenced by foul magic. Needs blood to reproduce."

I may refine the flavour text when I make it look proper. The following sketches show Roslan fending off a few of them alone, while the bottom sketch shows the Flies feasting on some unfortunate soul. Appropriately, Roslan and Sagacious are disgusted. Charles is not amused.

I had to re-upload this, because I just noticed that the fin-shaped hairband around Eve's hair and the clasp on her tail were not coloured. 😂 So I'm gonna do a double mention of @catfreakzz.bsky.social ! I'll leave the previous one up for a bit, then I'll delete it. So take this one instead!

I have no idea what the song is like, but I like to imagine that it's related to the ribbon and the stars. Possibly one about the sea and stars, who knows?

This time, I have coloured the last two details on Eve's mermaid-themed outfit, because I did not notice that they were missing while I was colouring this and chugging Dr. Pepper simultaneously. I also added another colour to Eve's dress, though it is subtle and hard to see without a comparison. I didn't write down the colours for Eve's dress, so it's all guesswork for me.

But I really love Dr. Pepper, and I would not have finished this if it wasn't for the drink...

I must draw this then! Fun story: I was in the middle of drawing Annie xD But I didn't know what accessory she should hold. Here's the sketch! Yeah, that's how I imagine single eye characters could wink too. The middle needs to touch, or it looks weird that her "middle" eye is just staring. xD

Sketches I did recently, mostly because techno+jazz has motivated me to draw out stuff for my characters. So have four pages with plenty of ALT text to explain what the heck is going on in my drawings.

A page depicting sketches of Charles's familiars (Knight and Panther), along with Charles, Roslan and Sagacious in what appears to be their battle posture.

There are sketches of Roslan in various action poses in the bottom right corner. He wields Principalities, the blade that breaks magic.

The middle sketches show Charles's Panther in its normal form. Then there's it extending its jaws far wider than what normal creatures should be able to. It being made of shadows helps to stretch out and consume its prey.

The Knight might need some work. I don't know how to draw knights. I'll learn how to draw their armour. I need this exercise.

Sketches of Scylla being pretty. I miss drawing Scylla, so here she is again.

Three of the sketches depict her powers in practice. The top one shows her swordfish at the ready to rush at her target. The bottom-middle sketch shows her with a shark-like manifestation, chomping down at the fall of her hand. The bottom-right sketch shows her with her swarm of flying fish, used to disorientate and make herself difficult to target. She's capable of dynamic poses, but prefers to maintain her prim appearance.

Sketches of Blathnaid. The left side of the page shows a bird's eye view of Blathnaid dancing, as she attempts to replicate a ritual. She was unsuccessful, sadly.

The right side shows another ritual she's heard of and will attempt. It involves stabbing a flower-wrapped pointy stick into her eye. She's hesitating to do it, knowing it will cause immense pain. But desperation made her hungry, and she must sate her hunger.

Sketches of Blathnaid with members of the Seabellow crew. This was before she became part-faerie. We see her in the same class as the Seabellow crew (Elvard the Narwhal, Eve the Sea Lion, and Filmore the Boar). She appears to be a recluse.

I'm still working out the details of her past, and for some reason, I want desperation to play a significant role in her transformation.

This turned out waaaaaay better than I expected! I thought I was going to struggle with the ringlets in her hair, but I had FUN doing each and every curl~ This is an art trade with @coffeatea.bsky.social , featuring their OC~ I read that she's into cottagecore themes. But-

A scene that depicts CoffeaTea's OC... seemingly floating in front of a tall window? I should've included a floor, but I didn't want to add anymore browns to the piece. I don't think I ever saw what floor is suitable for a cottagecore interior. I only remembered about the floor while typing this. Go me, hooray. That was meant to sound dry.

That said, CoffeaTea's OC is (supposed to be) walking with a few books in hand. The purple and navy blue books are held close, while she's holding a red brown one in hand. She's probably about to shelve the book.

Outside of the window is a bush with pink flowers. The sky is clear with a few clouds barely visible in the lightness of the colour blue. The vanilla-coloured curtains are parted in the centre to show the semicircle top section of the window.

So I dug through Blathnaid's bio to see what I'd written for the Orb of Spring. xD It's better if I let you read this screenshot.

This category refers to the items that are generally found on my character Blathnaid. There are two items present in this category so far:

The first item refers to the Orb of Spring. It is a magical item that contains a scene of what appears to be a meadow in the season of spring. It is said to contain an essence of spring, eternally imprisoned within this orb. Blathnaid is able to channel its vitality to ensure plants can achieve their spring season state temporarily. The orb is recharged during the season of spring.

The second item refers to Blathnaid's wand, named "White Lily". It is a wand that Blathnaid uses to channel her magic better. The flower of a lilium casa blanca grows at the head of the wand. She is capable of casting spells without her wand, but the wand makes spellcasting so much easier. It is noted that her Orb of Spring constantly levitates above the wand, but it can be separated and left to float anywhere else near Blathnaid.

Hold on a moment I didn't upload a reference sheet for Blathnaid??? And it's been a month since I drew this???!?! Welp, guess I'll place it here then. Now people can see how I draw her!

The second drawing shows how she looks without her clothes on. It also shows how long her faerie wings are.

The sketches on the right side are to show (from the top to the bottom) how her ears look from the side view. Her ears are always horizontal to her head. The next sketch shows the tufts on her muzzle. The following sketch in the middle shows the flower on her eye. And finally, the bottom sketch shows how her wings are positioned on her back. They don't necessarily need to be connected to her.

Of all the things I could've done, I threw wild roses onto the outer circle. I suppose it works for this piece, as I want Blathnaid to be the main focus while there's a hopefully-relaxing scene in the back. And her orb is up to something. No idea what it is, but it's swirling. Probably nothing-

I haven't lost my drive to draw Blathnaid yet! I was just knocked out by the heatwave- I don't know where the circles came from. I just thought I'd put her reclining in a circle. The rest followed after after 26 minutes of sketching. I was listening to an album while drawing, hence the time-

Inside of the circle is supposed to be a view to some scenic greenery. Blathnaid's Orb of Spring is floating in the centre, with what appears to be a spiralling flower from bird's eye view, ready to bloom in the next moment. There are two leafy branches at the top and top-right of the circle.

Somehow, Secare returned while I was listening to Enigma (The Screen Behind The Mirror). He's a strange case. He was the first OC I'd ever designed, making him older than Roslan, who is my main sona. I've gotten that itch to draw and update Secare, because I was never satisfied with his outfit.

The top left sketch shows a surprised Blathnaid, as this was her first encounter with Secare. The bird in question is seen seated behind a desk, with papers scattered across it. The next panel (in the middle) depicts him putting down the folder he had been holding.

The top-middle sketch shows an incomplete Secare with his scythe. I decided to look up traditional farming scythes for his, because I'm a stickler for the real farm tool and not exaggerate the scythe's design. I will definitely exaggerate it later.

The right sketch shows Secare leaning on his cane, revealing the full extent of his uniform that he's commonly seen in. He likes to wear his tie loose and shirt open and untucked on the right.

My weakness: mono-eye characters (feat. @catfreakzz.bsky.social 's Annie). 😂 I struggle with them. I can't bring myself to finish the rest of the page. I have to attempt them somehow, or I'll suck for the rest of my drawing life- I also decided to practice with Eve's dancing poses! More in ALT-

Sketches of my friend's character Annie can be seen at top half of this page. I initially drew her in some cheerleader-like pose, but I didn't know how to fit Eve in there. Thinking about it now, I should've just sketched Eve jumping for joy alongside Annie.

The second sketch at the top was me attempting to draw mono-eye characters like Sonic. I gave up so quickly, because it looked awkward to me. I don't draw mono-eye characters. I'm terribly sorry.

Bottom half of the page are filled with sketches of Eve. On the left, it's Eve in various dancing poses. The main focus are the position of her limbs and head, followed by her hair and tail. I tried to think about the flow of movement for those aspects.

The right side features a better view of Eve: One where she wants a rest after showing one of her dances to Annie (that's her head and what's supposed to be hands under her head), the other (middle-left) was my first attempt at a dynamic angle for Eve and her whip. I gave up on that quickly, making another (far right) that I'm terrifically proud of. I must finish that one next time. That looks so good! All my years spent memorising poses from Castlevania game cover illustrations are paying off good!~

This one felt rushed. A reference sheet for Tomoko, and I think I could still do better with her design instead of what I'd done so far. That's alright. I can always jump back to drawing her on a later date. Until then, I'm pretty happy with some drawings on this page!

The top-left drawing is just her posing with her naginata, one of the weapons that she owns.

The top-middle drawing shows how she actually looks without her clothes. It shows the length of her hair, and that she has retractable claws on her hands and feet.

The top-right sketches showcase Tomoko's arsenal. The top left one shows her landing with her naginata, ready to strike. The bottom left one shows her with her sword, which looks awfully familiar to something that Reina holds. The top right sketch shows her with the sword drawn. And the bottom right sketch shows her idling with her naginata. I got lazy with drawing her clothes for this sketch.

The bottom-middle sketch shows Tomoko hugging a gryphon's arm intimately. He'll get an update design soon, just not now.

Took me a while to finish this reference. And I'm satisfied with how she looks~ This is Venetia, a (shortfin) mako shark who is the technological geek for Peach's group. She tends to check through recording and photos for signs of editing, but she can delve into other technology-based fields.

The top-middle drawing shows how she looks without her clothes. Her palms and soles are the same shade of white as her snout and belly. It should be noted that she wears wigs.

The top-right sketches show Venetia without her wig. The second drawing shows her hanging out with Catherine, where Catherine is gifting a handbag to her. Venetia loves handbags. The third sketch shows Venetia doing ballet, and it also showcases how long her tail is.

The bottom-left sketch shows how her tail looks, since it's always hidden behind her.

The bottom-middle sketches show Venetia's head-fins, as well as the gills on both sides of her neck. I didn't draw this detail on the actual drawings. It was a last minute addition for her, and it's completely optional.

The bottom-right sketch shows Venetia working on a computer. To her left is Willow, who is curious what's happening on the screen. Only Venetia experiences the frustration of digging hours of footage for any signs of tampering. That's why she doesn't have her wig in this.

Weirdly, I've only drawn two OCs with their fangs showing. I tend to draw them in a tiny triangles near the top corner of their mouths. Characters featured are my Willow and Charles, respectively!

I still have Blathnaid in my focus, but I kinda want to finish this reference of a shark character I'd began on 6th June, but got distracted- Venetia has went from skinny, to really chubby, and suddenly to this shape of body. It's in-between, I suppose? How does one describe body shape-

I sketched more of Blathnaid. She's surprisingly fun, and those flowery details can't stop me because I'm lazy- I've also decided to put her with Eve's group, hence why we see Finnbar, Zeri and Scarlette in these sketches. Man, these are fun. @yukidoodlesdo.bsky.social's Julia makes an appearance!

Beginning from the top-left, Blath is attempting to use her charms to acquire a freshly-baked pie from my friend's OC Julia. She has kindly allowed Blath to enjoy the pie while discussing about Blath's witchly profession.

The top-middle and top-right sketches show Blath teasing Finnbar. The antelope is incredibly abashed by Blath's advances.

The middle-center and middle-left sketches show Blath hanging out with Eve, Scarlette and Zeri respectively. She's on good terms with the other ladies.

The bottom-left sketch shows Blath in awe at someone. Could it be someone dashing enough to capture her attention? Or she's just impressed? That's up to you to decide.

The bottom-middle-left sketch has Blath braiding her hair for a change. She also sports a flower crown.

The bottom-middle-right sketch has Blath blasting something with a magical force from her wand. I haven't fully worked out Blath's magic yet, but I wanted to draw a cool action pose.

The bottom-right sketch shows Blath being incredibly amused by mushrooms. She loves mushrooms. Mushrooms are so neat. She'll eat some and use them in spells later.

Blathnaid in a summer themed outfit. I try to make it resemble her main outfit, so details may change. It looks okay for now, but I know I can do better.
