Hunting for old programs of conferences of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness I stumble upon the 1984 french translation of Krutch’s 1981 book about AI on small computers. I learned a lot of things going through that book!

Cleaning up my office a bit I stumbled upon extensive correspondence between undergraduate me and Donald Broadbent, the great British psychologist, who was, in 1986, interested in implicit learning. These interactions pretty much shaped the rest of my career.

In 1986, my (deceased) father created this 50x70cm composition about the work I was carrying out at Carnegie Mellon, where I was studying recurrent networks, including the “Jordan sequential network” featured here. I didn’t know about this until I stumbled upon the piece cleaning up his workshop.
