It’s #portfolioday! Time to dredge up some older illustrations while I prep for another weekend expo. #art #coloredpencil #illustration #gothart

I’m a colored pencil illustrator and make all sorts of cat stickers, pins, prints, and a teacup set using my artwork. Still need to make some tortie goods to represent my current furry fiend! awinthrop.bigcartel.com

✨Tattoo post!✨ An anatomically correct brain with highlighted language areas, cradled by velvet and a frame decorated with floral representing forgetfulness (poppies), silence (belladonna), and hope (hawthorne) in the Victorian flower language. #tattoo #anatomicaltattoo #art #tattooartist

An entire species, distilled into a holy reliquary of arsenic-laced skin and feathers. A singular delegate for a subspecies, enshrined behind museum glass and perfumed in the ritual incense of mothballs. “Indolic Endling”, 2024 #art #coloredpencil #illustration #pigeon #extinctanimals

Closeup of illustration of an extinct Pink pigeon. The pigeon is partially decomposed, decapitated with floral bursting from its rib cage, and is perched on filigree formed from blood vessels.

Sometimes you gotta submit to the urge to draw a dog that’s also a living guillotine, because of ✨reasons✨ #sketchbook #art

Turn your back to the forest and your front to me. The ground is glacial and your yard is lacking; a crypt atop rook legs makes for a strange house of the dead. #art #illustration #babayaga #coloredpencil #folklore

A bull is as formidable as it is down to earth; it must be so to crack the ice of winter and find the fresh growth of spring. As such, those of a Taurean tenacity might balance an air of opulence with the will to take down a wall of muscle as easily as one draws breath. #art #taurus #illustration

A smattering of my tattoo work, as that’s in the job title too and I’ve been focusing on posting more illustration work here thus far. #art #tattoos #portfolioday #chicagoartist

A reliquary to feeling wholly human while my heart feels like lead. An empty-eyed skull peering forth from a frozen, dismembered grimace of its past anger, frustration, or revulsion (take your pick). A bed of strychnine and ricin. Bitter, violent, angry pills. #art #coloredpencil #anxiety

Sure, and they even have cool patches (patches will disappear for good at random intervals)

The nice thing about starting fresh on a new app is getting to air out some of my classic pieces, like “Psychopomp II” here, done in 2019.

Purge the toxic omen by way of fang and feminine fury. Historically, the rat king has been seen as a harbinger of catastrophe. What catastrophes might be avoided if the traditionally masculine symbol becomes consumed by a demonized traditionally feminine symbol? #art #coloredpencil #illustration

Apparently a day late for #portfolioday but what the hell, I’m new here. I’m Alexandra, and I’m a colored pencil illustrator and tattoo artist in Chicago. I love all things macabre and funereal, and appreciate a healthy dose of natural and art history references. #art #coloredpencil
