Someone made a fan edit of the film where they printed each frame on paper, so they could crumple the image based on Pinchot’s character’s mindset. Been dying to check that version out: www.splittoothmedia.com/timekeepers-...

Love Her Madly, a vanity project directed by Ray Manzarek from The Doors (based on a story by Manzarek and Jim Morrison). Had the honor, such as it was, to see it with Manzarek in attendance.

The Annunciation, a Hungarian film that’s exactly like Bugsy Malone, only there’s no songs and instead of kids playing gangsters, it’s kids recreating horrific moments through history as recounted by Lucifer to Adam and Eve.

I remember they used that image of the dummy in the monthly TV guide we got from a proto-HBO movie service my family subscribed to when I was a little kid. Couldn’t even look at that page without getting the hinks.

Not a great film, but it has one of my favorite standalone scenes in any movie… “This is some very innovative vomit…”

The most important question I can think of is have you ever gotten around to watching Walker, the Alex Cox movie from the ‘80s with Ed Harris about William Walker?

It was unfortunately late in life that I realized the Looney Tunes joke about “I’m gonna love him, and hug him, and squeeze him and call him George” was a reference to Of Mice and Men.

If you’ve never seen Potluck, the movie produced by High Times magazine, consider yourself lucky. The movie is borderline unwatchable, except for Isaac’s brief turn in the first 5 minutes: man’s so good an actor, you believe the movie won’t be that bad until his character gets killed off

Nick Knacks is one of the best histories of popular culture I’ve discovered. Every installment, whether it’s a regular episode, Sample Platter mini-sode, or occasional addendum is a treat. Well worth a deep dive.

I remember watching On the Television. It was on Saturday nights just before I could go out on my own; I watched that show along with Duckman and Weird Science the series on USA. Be interested to see what you can do with that show.

The list can now include Cher (if she gets inducted again with Sonny). I also think people sleep on Vince Clarke from Depeche Mode: he could get in potentially with either Erasure or Yaz/Yazoo.

I’m guessing if Kick Out the Jams gets a main entry, the episode/s will be as much about John Sinclair, his arrest and the outsized impact it had on the U.S. counterculture, as it would be about the MC5 themselves.
