The fact is this administration doesn't have support from many celebs or musicians for their actions. Dropkick Murphys, Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise; none of them are shallow or foolish enough to participate in a PR stunt like Kid Rock. All of them have a stellar reputation supporting veterans.

Norms do not break in isolation. They spread. This logic does not stop with Venezuela or with Trump. It puts a target on U.S. officials, diplomats, aid workers, contractors, and ordinary Americans abroad by signaling that force dressed up as law is now acceptable.

There are cases where commanders cannot compel Soldiers to sign. For example paying for missing or lost property, you cannot compel a Soldier to sign if it has been more than a certain amount of time, or if the Soldier disputes they are responsible - without conducting an investigation.
