I understand that GitHub Copilot is now much more expensive than Claude Code or Codex, but what if you had unlimited access? GitHub Copilot has access to multiple models, which is a strong advantage. It also has powerful features not easily found in alternatives: bsky.app/profile/awak...

Spawning child sessions in different projects that coordinate with the parent is by far the most powerful feature in the GitHub Copilot app. I tried doing similar workflows in Claude Code but it is just too limited on this front

If you had unlimited access to GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, which one would be your favorite?

Is the GitHub Copilot server-side BYOK finally stable? I had given up on it a few months ago, as it was unable to server models that would show up with the right model parameters client-side. I'm interested in adding Baseten as an inference provider for everyone with GLM 5.3

I made ChatGPT/Codex plugins that wrap Copilot CLI, so you can now review changes using any of the models available in GitHub Copilot! Just follow instructions in the repository: github.com/awakecoding/...

I'm a Microsoft MVP and I use Windows daily, but my biggest wish is that Microsoft makes it easier to cross-compile *to* Windows. Why would the OS used to build Windows software matter, especially in CI, if it leads to the elimination of this 1.33x Windows penalty that's real?

Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 29/09/2026
I've heard various theories, but nothing "scientific": disk I/O, the cost of case insensitive filesystems, overhead of launching processes, you name it. At the end of the day, if you build exactly the same software targeting Windows from both Windows and Linux runners, Linux wins

Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 29/09/2026
Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing much cross-compilation internally, so they'd be myopic to the problem. It's something I've observed over the past decade that I came to accept as a fact: in a CI matrix build job, Windows builds always finish last behind macOS and Linux.

Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 29/09/2026
Why is it that Windows is consistently slower than Linux at building software *for* Windows? I've got real numbers from CI builds of RDM Windows (.NET) on Windows and Linux runners as proof: Windows has a 1.33x median penalty. It's not a one-off, I re-ran the benchmarks 5 times

I made Claude Code plugins that wrap Copilot CLI so you can easily launch reviews using any of the models supported by GitHub Copilot. It doesn't matter how good the latest Anthropic models are, different models catch different things: github.com/awakecoding/...

I added simple terminal-based attachment to daemon-backed ironrdp-agent sessions, making it much easier to switch between background and foreground usage of the same RDP sessions. Performance isn't great and it'll always remain limited, but it works!

UniGetUI lets you find, install, and manage the Windows apps you actually want to use from one convenient place.

This Single Free App Replaces the Broken Windows 11 Store
The WinGet command-line tool is the best Windows feature most people don’t know about. Much like the Advanced Package Tool (APT) package manager on Linux, it effectively enables you to download and update applications without searching for an installer from the web or visiting the Microsoft Store. For reference, you also use WinGet to install Windows Developer Config setups and to take advantage of some other developer features.

I'm thinking of creating custom subagents in Claude Code that wrap Copilot CLI, enabling usage of non-Anthropic models for reviewing changes. The holy grail would be /rubber-duck that almost looks and feels the same as in GitHub Copilot app, using Copilot CLI under the hood

Argh. Claude Code for Windows has exactly the same problem I had gotten fixed in the GitHub Copilot app: making the mistake of loading only the system-level PATH while forgetting the user-level PATH. None of the tools installed in user context, especially MSIX packages, work 👇

Claude Code shows the current *state*, while Agent Merge in GitHub Copilot shows what you *allow* the agent to do, and you need to click on the PR link to see more. Claude Code uses flashing bubbles when CI is in progress, and shows current state based on what you enabled

Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 27/09/2026
I hate to admit, but I find Claude Code's CI integration much simpler to use and reliable than the GitHub Copilot app agent merge feature. It makes CI and PR state visible where you prompt while remaining compact. With GitHub Copilot, it just says it "checked" instead

What are the best Rust SDKs for local AI that can use models distributed from Huggingface, works on Windows and Linux, and would be suitable to extract searchable data from a video file? It needs to run OCR models locally at a bare minimum

Does anyone know if it's possible in Claude Code to see queued "chips" or "suggested tasks" after the pop up dialog is dismissed? It seems shortsighted to have such a feature require that you take action *now* for follow-up tasks that would normally be done later

What are the best agent skills package manager CLIs today? skills.sh is installed through npx, which makes it harder to deploy enterprise-wide. "gh skills" is interesting, but too GitHub-oriented, and I'm hitting performance issues for large agent skills.

Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 25/09/2026
I have a very large agent skill, and "gh skill install awakecoding/openspecs windows-protocols" takes forever, and even hits GitHub API rate limits. Is there a better way to distribute agent skills for faster downloads and stability with the GitHub CLI?

I know, that's the reason that's been given to me for not doing in Windows Terminal. Usability wins in the end, it's the same as having a remote terminal open to another machine: if someone can run code as your user, they can suddenly inject commands into a remote machine as well

The bottleneck here is actually trying things out manually, where you ask the AI agent to guide you step-by-step, without running the commands for you. That's when you realize it's just way too complicated for a human being to use the CLI the AI built even if it works
020
Marc-André Moreau @awakecoding.com · 24/09/2026
Building CLIs usable by humans is difficult with AI because it is so good at working around tons of manual, painful steps that have zero usability

The nice thing about having your own Devolutions Terminal is you can add the features you always wanted in Windows Terminal. Here's gsudo integration for launching any profile elevated using shift+click. No need to launch a second terminal elevated, you can have it all in one place!

What is the best way to add object storage similar to S3 in an ASP.NET application? Storing large files into SQL seems very suboptimal, and using the local filesystem doesn't work well for high availability and persistence
