This was also a concern. Their benefactor had apparently thought of a lot of pitfalls and dangers that could happen and they had not yet started their adventure. Still, he felt that spark of thrill. Adventure was looming.

“Do you prefer to fly or take a steamer? Our benefactor gave us the choice of flying or a ship. One gets us there faster but the other gives us the chance to throw off anyone who may be watching us.” -

Even now as they exit the museum he feels a sense of unease. The same feeling he got the first time he set foot on Hamunaptra. His instincts told him they were on to something big. Probably bigger than they were prepared for but that wouldn’t stop him and he was sure it wouldn’t stop Indiana. -

“It’s a risk we’re taking doing this. I know we won’t be the only ones out there searching for it but we’re the only ones with this clue. We’ve got maybe 48 hours before every treasure hunter and tomb robber start to follow us to get their hands on the prize.” -

“I only gamble with my life, never my money. A dig like this is one for the ages. I’m more than ready.” With a nod to Dr. Jones, Rick starts to lead the way as they walk out of the museum. -

Hat brim low, shoulders squared — there was no mistaking him. Indiana Jones. Rick’s pulse picked up, excitement tangled with a hint of nerves. This was a man who didn’t just chase legends — he lived them. Rick gave a nod and offered his hand. “Rick O’Connell.”

Inside, the cool marble floors cut through the day’s heat, and the air carried that heavy silence only ancient artifacts can hold. Rick’s eyes scanned the room, moving past relics of forgotten empires until they landed on a figure standing in the far corner. -

Just the thought of being the ones to discover this ancient wonder of the world send chills down his spine. By the time he reached the museum, the sun was sliding down behind the sandstone buildings, shadows stretching long across the street. -

The offer was almost too good to be real: team up with none other than Indiana Jones himself and go after the fabled Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The payout was huge, enough to bankroll Rick’s digs for the next ten years. But what really hooked him wasn’t the money — it was the mystery. -

Heavy paper, fancy print, and words that felt less like an invitation and more like a dare. If this led where he thought it might, it could be the kind of adventure that defined his whole career. A mysterious adventure by a mysterious benefactor. -

The place smelled like old books and worn-out leather chairs—comforting in a way, like stepping back into a memory. Rick had spent years chasing after bits of history and half-buried legends, but the letter in his hand was different. -

{ Ancient Wonder of the World- Closed starter with @archaicfind.bsky.social } Rick O’Connell walked into the office, still wearing that old beat up fedora he practically lived in lately and the scruffy five o’clock shadow he never bothered shaving. -

//I do too! It’s such a fun movie and the mythology behind it lends itself to so many stories and even crossovers.
