Not sure it's true that earnings "rarely" keep track of inflation. They do more often than not. But real disposable income has stagnated due to fiscal drag, which is what people feel in their wallet. But now increasing numbers of pensioners are going to become liable for income tax too.

I haven't stumbled across anyone attempting to justify this, so what are the "very sad reasons"? It seems to have blindsided everyone, except whoever was present at the reselection meeting. I wonder what percentage of her local party were at the meeting, and how representative they were?

I agree with George. The phrase "legitimate concerns" is used almost exclusively to appease racists and bigots. And those racists and bigots hear Government Ministers telling them they are right, but just don't be too nasty about it. I want politicians to stand up and tell them they are wrong.

A personal story about that phrase “young men of fighting age” applied to asylum seekers. As many of you know I took in a young Ukrainian woman under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. As part of that process, soon after she arrived we were visited by the local authority rep and a Fire Brigade rep.

LEDs run cool, so no burn worries. I'm guessing the camera modules are the same as in mobile phones, and an internet search says that phone cameras have IR filters in their lens. Try pepper spray?
