These were millimeters apart in a stack of mostly postcards
The upper left corner of a forest-green, glossy print brochure is overlaid upon a post card such that the hypotenuse of a brown triangle accenting the upper left corner aligns with a bottom border of the photo on the post card below. An uncanny color match is found in that photo, which depicts ancient art from the Petrified Forest National Park. The brochure obstructs half of the text, leaving “Petrified Nation” visible. The brochure is titled “America the Beautiful.”

Shadow selfie at Hanwoori Garden, which opened in Federal Way, Washington, in June 2025. The space is impeccably designed, expertly crafted, and warmly inviting. It is the first traditional Korean garden in the state. Find it adjacent to Panther Lake.

“Make your world larger… by going slower.” This detail is from a statue, in Issaquah, Washington, of Harvey Manning, lifelong hiking advocate, who was instrumental in preserving wildlands within urban King County. The statue was created by Sara Johani and Tom Jay. It was dedicated in 2009.
