EXACTLYYY exactly. we do our best even if it's not necessarily the same as someone else's best!

they're so fucking bad it's crazy

got half a mind to give my uni feedback on this because like. i don't expect them to just up and replace all these chairs because 95% of classrooms have them, but this is a place that's ostensibly trying its best to be accessible so i really think they should fix this shit

110

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 46m

these tiny-ass chairs with the mini desk attached on the side are lowkey a microagression because like. i'm fat, right, and i'm just on the very edge of being able to comfortably use those. if i was like 10% bigger i literally could not use the little desk thing to take notes

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 47m

got my ass to today's lecture 👍 i wish i could say that's all i have to do today but later i have to work on a group project ughh. after that though i'm just gonna veg out all evening and that's that

010

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 56m

and the localisations are dumb as shit half the time too because the mc's name is takumi and he gets localised to tak. just tak. like. what

i'm so glad we as a society have mostly moved past westernising names of manga characters because i'm reading initial d right now and the official translation's approach to character names is killing me. first names get localised to things starting w/ the same letter but last names stay the same??¿?

i know for a lot of people "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well" is good and helpful advice but i cannot overstate how much more helpful it is to me to tell myself that it's better to half-ass things than to not do them at all. sometimes all you can do is the bare minimum and that's enough

130

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 2h

lazy as fuck today but i only have a lecture today and i don't even need to take any notes if i don't feel like it, it's already a W if i just get my ass there in a chair, so that's what i'm aiming for today

marcille being very extra about her hair is insanely moe to me especially because we learn at some point that hair is important for storing and channelling magical power and yet literally none of the other spellcasters in the series, and there are A Lot of them, care about their hair as much as her

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 13h

this is the only thing i wish dunmeshi had done differently but it gets a pass because 1. the outfits there are sets of adventuring gear which is expensive, 2. the characters wear different clothes when necessitated by the situation, and, crucially, 3. marcille changes hairstyles like 100 times

110

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 13h

i'm reading initial d right now and i'm 65 chapters in and i feel like the protag has worn more outfits right now than the protags of the previous three mangas i've read combined. admittedly those were all high school sports mangas but fucking still

110

avery @avery-p.bsky.social · 13h

god i love when manga characters get to actually have multiple outfits and like regularly change their clothes like normal people. no overdesigned merch-ready bullshit for me thanks i will take a guy wearing a pair of jeans and like five different shirts in 15 chapters please and thank you
