In the summer of 2000 a friend and I bought a mini van from a stranger in the parking lot of a gas station for $1000 and drove it to Oregon and then up the Arctic Circle. It was amazing. I suggest doing this kind of thing if and when you can.

I get that we were double whammied on factors largely outside of anyone’s control (at least in real time) but United Airline’s poor communication around simply canceling our flight and leaving us stranded at 1am was disappointing.

Phish is playing tour year based setlists so far on this run. Last night was their 93rd show at MSG so they played a ‘93 tour based setlist. Tonight they will presumably play a ‘94 based setlist. This was the set last time I saw them play a “94 tour setlist.

Made it up to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite yesterday. Possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Challenging physically and at times terrifying. I’m very proud of myself and also never want to do anything like this again.

I’m proud of @toadsongs.bsky.social for how hard she works- not just producing cool art but also getting out to show it. I’m actually really appreciative of all of the talented artists who take on this additional step. It’s a lot of work, often with minimal payoff in a traditional sense.
