I wasn't watching when Regal was around (although finding out my dad's high school friend later became good friends with Regal was pretty cool!) but in general he was a solid, fun lower-mid carder. You can't have a roster full of title challengers, you need people like him there to just entertain.

Jake Busey. I'd say Gary but he's 82 and on probation.

They fail to acknowledge emotional beats of the story and that's super frustrating to see when they're complaining about 'not being invested'. Also I don't think they take the role of cc seriously, asking donations from fans then disappearing without a word for ages. It's disrespectful. Rant over🫡

I feel the need to explain 1)😅 They've always been a little on the negative side but I used to value a little criticism. But since EoD they've done this thing whereby they invent the best case scenario in their head for the GW2 story then get annoyed when the story doesn't hit all those notes.

Been through it myself, I know the pain. Take all the time you need, go distract yourself with something and we'll be here when you're feeling up to it.

Three random things: 1) Moving on from a GW2 content creator after following for years because they suck now. 2) I bought a popcorn maker. Healthier snack right? *proceeds to cake first batch in brown sugar, golden syrup and butter* 3) Started 007 First Light. Damn they went hard on level design!

Might have well have been arguing which food is better, caviar or quail eggs. Much too poor growing up to be having these kind of discussions, it was more whether SMTV Live was a good enough replacement for Live & Kicking at my school.

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Well those two bastions of the industry (I really dislike the latter) are a little late, that's been common knowledge for those following Maven's channel. It's the reason he hasn't released until now. Disagree on the poor timing, it's not an AEW related interview.

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

We need Badenoch to be where she is at right now until the next GE. Just popular enough on the far right to syphon off Reform voters but not enough to actually be in a position to get in power. All the while hating Reform for their incompetence and general plebbishness.

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I've just watched the video, that is the only mention of AEW in it. 5 seconds of IN CONTEXT bitching... this isn't an AEW themed video in any way and wasn't released to 'take advantage' of PAC's death.

a spell on him to live forever more in a stupor, clasping the very artifact he stole. He melted down the betrayer's other treasures before dipping his disfigured arm in the liquid gold. He's scarred all over, it's why he wears a mask while in public. Probably my darkest character backstory 😆

010

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Not my Comm, not really a character I play much but his backstory is involves a disfigured left arm 😋 Long story short Caedraen was betrayed while on his Wyld Hunt looking for an artifact, died and was then awakened. After Joko fell he sought revenge against the betrayer, torturing him and placing

Well if we're talking about Enzo this interview was from a year ago so it's completely unrelated. He's entitled to an opinion though regardless, both events are separate. I think maybe people are angry at the timing of Maven releasing the interview? But again... see above. I don't get the issue.

010

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I'm confused as to how airing an interview where Enzo criticises (wrongly) AEW in a single sentence somehow equates to insulting the PAC memorial?

While I appreciate the love for Control I disagree vehemently with that characterisation of E33.

000

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I'm sat right in the middle. WoW Forever is putting a very nice bowtie on a beloved pig, Aion 2 is a flashy 'more of the same' monetised to all hell and RS4 looks promising but we know very little. GW3 on the other hand looks to be the only one looking to break the mould... but I'm VERY biased 😋

000

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Ummm I wouldn't say it's a bad movie, I just thought it was a very average one brought down by the fact I just wasn't into it at all? It's hard to rate a movie like that... I disliked my time with it but for someone more into the original? Maybe worth a watch? 😅

000

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

BTW I remember that 'dating' story step everyone choosing Canach and I'm sitting here with only one character in mind regardless of the choice of three. Smart, resourceful and the only character in EoD that genuinely asked our Comm how we were doing.

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I don't really think of my game chars too deeply when it comes to relationships, it's not really my thing (to each their own ofc) however I can loosely say Aven doesn't really do romance or anything long term. Meets up with Yao occasionally but nothing serious... maybe that'll change with the break?

120

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Unrelated but GW2-relevant: Two or three full Dragon's Stand maps at 8:30am this morning on EU. All ANET are offering is a single Mystic Coin as an extra reward for not mounting. Give players ANY excuse and they'll play the shit out of GW2.

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Maybe the wrong time to say this but uhhh... the double act got old for me a long while back and neither impressed me enough as singles competitors to feel much about them leaving? Like maybe that's not on THEM so much as the booking.

#62: Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - n/a Screw this, I'm done after 3 episodes. How they could have gotten this so damn wrong is... insulting, to be frank. I was all for something different but this is just a high school drama with flashy visuals, NOT a Star Trek series. It's clearly not for ST fans

Aven finds it hard to relax and would maybe go as far as to say she doesn't enjoy it. She prefers to be busy and go to sleep tired. She finds a calm of sorts by talking with others, checking in to see how people are, helping out with smaller tasks and reading.

Not really a sudden turn around, 48% of us recognised the disaster before it happened. Of the 52% who voted to leave they've had 10 years of seeing what a stupid thing it was... a fair few (not blinded by racism) have enough common sense to want to switch sides.

Look at this from the EU's perspective: Britain chose to leave, found it to be a monumental and costly mistake, and now potentially wants back in. There's no better advert for the EU existing!

Avenrise (my Comm) throws herself into her work so rarely takes time for herself. Popping this here as I'm still unsure and don't want to make a big deal about it if it doesn't happen 😅 I have a... content creation type idea brewing in my mind. Something that I find interesting but hasn't really been covered by anyone before. Worried it's too low effort though.

000

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

One singular Commander since the very start, Avenrise. I do switch to Kaeoja or Brae for about half the open world events/metas though, I just have to tune out when they're called Comm by the NPCs 😆

040

Dan Smith (Avenrise) @avenrise.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

One Commander, Thereon Avenrise. Two I consider 'mains' that I do open world events with, Braeseff Olfaoson and Kaeoja. Two more I play for general farming and instances, Rraygar Stormborn and Vela Ashenpaw. A few others I occasionally play/map complete on. So... 5+extras 😊

Grabbed the DLC at the same time so I'm pleased you say it's pretty awesome! I'll definitely get around to it (relatively) soon, my issue is that I like to only play one game at a time so the longer games are getting shuffled back in favour of shorter ones and there's been SO MANY this year -.-
