I tell myself all of the “reasons”, daily. “The pain won’t die with me, it will only transfer”, “Look into the eyes of your grandchild and know you are loved for who, not what you are”, “Everything is temporary”. It’s all accurate. So I hold on, waiting for change. I do “the work” in therapy.

Tomorrow I turn 53. Today I am a year and a half older than the day I planned to be my death. Everyone believes I am “better”. I no longer cry every day. I make plans, and even keep them, now. I am, indeed, better. But am I “well”? I still haven’t fully grasped my reason to continue.

I’m in deep thought on this one. What to do when one side holds to a strict set of rules, values, and guidelines… while the other flaunts every possible fault? When one side holds the “win no matter the cost” ideology, odds are against beating them while being the only ones held to rules.

In a poc. I was SA’s by a colleague and it triggered such ptsd that I’ve lost my business and ability to leave my home or work. Yet… it was THIS case that made me aware that I would not likely win a case against the company for creating an environment to allow such assault. I lost everything.

While I understand… I also believe this was absolutely part of the plan. Abusers are most effective when they isolate. By making the world hate us and believe that most of us “did this to ourselves”, we will be less likely to be saved from what’s coming. And I know, the sentiment is-save yourself
