Doing all these trial runs rn for my upcoming E2C Cosplay and I am very excited to start it in the upcoming months. It's something I want to make for many years and I guess it's finally time!

Trial run time! I made two samples, measured them and they will go into the wash for different cycles. I hope I'll achieve something like loden but with a bit more weaving texture? It will shrink and felt in the washing machine, so I will also calculate how much it shrunk.

The wool is no longer for that project but another! I finished it nevertheless. I didn't calculate how many meters I made but it took 43 hours so spin the 2kg ✨ It also already washed, thwacked and hung to dry so I can wind it to bobbins next.

Up until today I finished 1400/5500m of wool! There's still a bit more than a kg left of the Zwartbles. I am thinking of using hand dyed black Merino for the other half, so I can use one for warp one for weft to achieve a more interesting structure 😚

We just planned our ICL skit while having tasty food 🙏✨ We already had the idea last year in November, while waiting in queue at USJ. Before that we planned different costumes but out of the boredom of the queue something (hopefully) good blossomed.

Then I did a lot of measuring and maths (ugh) and estimated I need between 4000-5200m of yarn for the project. So I will simply make 5500. The two spools hold around 260m and took 3,5 hours to make. If my maths doesn't suck too much, that means 77 hours of spinning. Yay!

Goal is to spin this whole big ball into 2 ply yarn over the next weeks 🙏 already finished 2 single spools (1,5 of it today). It's very soft and nice 20mic merino, on the pic you see approx 900 gram waiting to be spun :>

Für 2.70 hab ich jetzt ungefähr 600g Wolle verbraucht, ich hab noch 1300g hier (und hab 1800g nachbestellt), sollte also für Tedys Schal dann reichen 🙏 Überlegung ist aber die Kettfäden vom Cape aus gekauftem Garn zu machen. Ist bisschen stabiler durch 3 ply.

The wool for Tedys scarf arrived! So I can finally start weaving. I won't be able to spin all the yarn myself, that's why I decided to buy some yarn. I also think it's easier to learn the technique with yarn that's a bit more sturdy. It's 3 ply sport yarn ✨
