a planet where trees warn each other of danger through a fungal network.

I have taken a good number of these calls. You definitely hear "I don't want to die for Israel" but refusal to fight triggered by the girls' school massacre is a much more frequent refrain. The anti-war movement can & must appeal to the morality of service members in this moment

If you are using undocumented immigrants' tax records to find and kidnap them, then it was never about them paying taxes.
If you are showing up at their place of employment, then it was never about them not working.
If you are showing up at courthouses, then it was never about getting them to "do it the right way"
If you are kidnapping women and children, then it was never about criminals.
If you're refusing to give them due process, then it was never about the Constitution.
If you are building concentration camps in Florida to keep them here in cages, then it was never about the border.
If you're spending billions to do this, then it was never about the economy.
And if you're doing all this in the name of a 34 time convicted felon, then it was never about following the law.

The birth rate in 1850 was almost 300 births per 1,000 women of childbearing age. In 1950 it was 106. Today it's 55.
Half of what it was 75 years ago. 20 percent of what it was 175 years ago. We need to start taking this problem seriously before we march into our own extinction.

We're not going extinct, Matt. You're just mad people aren't having babies for your demographic. Birth rate panic is just code for 'we're losing our grip on women and minorities, and we don't like it.
