Just saw Hoppers, and damn, i wanted to like it so bad, it was so funny and the art so beautiful but it came out so WEAK with that "use the proper channels, fight for the environment this way, you can convince the worst criminal through dialogue, violence is not the way" freaking undertone

I dress basically the same way every day, you know, the classic black plain shirt and green pants combo, and the only reason I'd like to experiment and try different clothing options would be to make those cool OOTD drawings of themselves some artists do

Poster style color illustration of An Antidote for Strychnine, a song by The Mountain Goats. It's composed of several panels displaying different images based on the song: lab rats, chemicals, fish bones... Green and blue tones predominate, but the band's name and the song title are written in yellow.

Color illustration of a gas filled armored being. The armor is translucent in parts on the limbs and their spherical head, where said gas can be seen.

Color illustration of a sailboat with solar sails. The hull is painted white and red, and technical data about it can be seen on the top left corner.

Color illustration, in greenish tones, of Rana temporaria tadpoles swimming on a puddle that has formed over a concrete floor. The shadow of some off-canvas dandelions can be seen too.

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of Jaws 🩸🦈I made a list to score, with 13 levels of stereotypes about sharks, I hope it is useful for those who want to create works beyond the fear ingrained by Jaws and seek new creative representations of sharks. #shark #jaws #jaws50thanniversary #jaws50

After noticing patterns over the years, I created this list with 13 points to score the level of stereotypes about sharks present in a work. I believe that most of these stereotypes have their main origin in the film Jaws (1975).

With the scarcity of works that explore other creative approaches to sharks, beyond the “man-eating ” narrative, Jaws ended up consolidating itself as the greatest source of inspiration and creative reference for many productions to this day. This was called “The Jaws Effect”.

I've noticed that certain patterns in the creative world repeat themselves to the point of being tedious, which bothers me. Not because they're bad, but because in many cases they're harmful. With these points, I hope to show sharks in a new light.

If y’all thought mama oak treehopper with her little nymphs was cute, just look at mama with her young adult offspring. 😍 These brightly colored new adults darken a week or two after emerging to more closely resemble their mama. I like to think of this as their rebellious teenage stage.

A bluish grey adult oak treehopper with red eyes and red stripes (left) sits face-to-face with its mother, a treehopper donning muted green coloration and orange spots. The two insects sit on a branch against a brightly colored background.

Making the art of your heart is wonderful, but your favorite artist is likely grinding out someone else's ideas just to live. If we want to honor Lynch's legacy we need to create a sustainable system in which artists are allowed to pursue their passions without economic or commercial pressure.
