Hyperspace by @siracusa is basically magical. This is *after* having already reclaimed ~500 GB and is almost entirely from unzipping all of my “download my data” archives (which was 1.18 TB compressed) and having Hyperspace find all the duplicate files.
A screenshot of Hyperspace. It shows that 3.7 million files in 170 thousand folders were scanned, with a resulting savings of 1.23 terabytes from 1.8 million files

The fact that you need to go through an 11-step process (which involves rebooting 3 times) to delete #AppleIntelligence from a Mac (which, on my Mac running Sequoia 15.4 took up *over 27 GB* despite having been disabled the entire time the "feature" has been […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]
A Reddit comment from user filchermcurr. It reads:

You can delete it but you need to disable SIP. To do it without risk of anything on your machine taking advantage of that, you can do everything from Recovery Mode. You'll need internet access to re-enable SIP (in my experience, wifi doesn't always connect in Recovery Mode, so make sure you know your wifi password or connect via ethernet). The procedure is:

   1. Disable Apple Intelligence in System Settings.
   2. Start up into Recovery Mode. (Instructions)
   3. Open Terminal (Utilities menu, Terminal)
   4. Type: csrutil disable
   5. Shut down and start back up in Recovery Mode.
   6. Open Disk Utility.
   7. Right-click on 'Data' under 'Macintosh HD' and choose Mount.
   8. Quit Disk Utility and open Terminal again.
   9. Type: rm -rf /Volumes/Data/System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_UAF_FM_GenerativeModels
  10. Type: csrutil enable
  11. Reboot

Hmm, looks like either #macOS #SystemSettings' Storage screen can't add or it can't find all applications... It says there are 509.26 GB of applications, but when I added up the claimed sizes from the same screen, it was only 312.04 GB 🤔 Thus, (at least) one […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]
