Our youngest had a hard time with their dad for years. For a while, they wouldn't ride in a car alone with him. Last week they texted and asked if he wanted to see the latest Final Destination movie this weekend and it's like he's going on his first date, he's so excited! Hang on to hope!

First generation Dutch girl here. My father, born in 1940 in The Netherlands, immigrated to the us in the 50's. My grandfather participated in the resistance because he refused to fight with the Nazi's. All of my grandparents living children follow fascism and reframe it as Christianity.

A tree grows in Brooklyn. I was probably 12 and until that book I hated reading. It took me to another world and made me aware of other places I wanted to visit. It was life changing!
