I love hearing pikas vocalize! These little rabbit relatives are hard at work now. During the short alpine summer, they gather plants to dry in the sun and then live off these during the long winters. They don't hibernate. #americanpika #ochotonaprinceps

I am absolutely enchanted by the Palliser Formation, which towers above a variety of places in the Canadian Rockies. I love its steep tilted slopes and the way it catches the light. It was deposited during the Devonian Period in a marine setting. #palliserformation #geology #devonianperiod
