A quick note: I won’t be selecting or curating poems. If you’d like to be featured, send me a DM with the poem you’d like shared and a short bio. There is no cost. No catch. No paid features. Just poets supporting poets. Let’s see what you’ve got.

Quick note: If you’d like me to feature your writing, please send me the specific article, poem, or post you’d like considered. I don’t go digging through websites or Substacks looking for something to feature. Send me your best work and I’ll happily have a look. 😉

The letter arrived forty years too late, and somehow it still knew my name.

Let’s build a story together. I’ll start with the first line. You reply with the next line. Let’s see where it goes.

I’m going to go quiet for a while. Giving, promoting, helping, and then being blocked or ignored for it wears you down more than people realize. Time to step back, protect my energy, and write. #Booksky

I did spend at least two hours going through different accounts until I found this one which really resonated with me. What a shame. His work is fantastic.

This one really hurts. I featured someone only to support their work, and instead of a message or a conversation, I was simply blocked. I’m only trying to do good here. Sometimes that lands harder than the block itself. #Booksky #writingcommunity #poetrycommunity #indieauthors #AuthorDiscovery

I kind of do the same thing. I dictate them into my Notes app, and then whatever I have, I throw down on paper and scratch around, changing things. You never know when something will pop up and a new muse is born.

2/3 What stands out in his work is the tension between brilliance and vulnerability. The lines dazzle, yes, but underneath the invention is a steady question How much of love, faith, and self can language actually hold #Booksky #BlackWriters #LiteraryCommunity #IndiePoetry

1/3 Feature Thursday @upfromsumdirt A poet whose work moves by sound and association, where language does not explain itself so much as unfold. This is poetry that trusts the reader. #Booksky #Poetry #BlackPoets #PoetryCommunity

This reads like a sound-driven piece, more about rhythm and motion than explanation. Interesting textures here. P.S. I grew up on Supertramp. Visions of cafeteria food and sticky fingers behind the bleachers.
