A pantoum is a poetic form where the 2nd line of the quatrain becomes the 1st of the next. Often (but not here) the 4th then becomes the 3rd. The interlocking repetition creates a circular story. I’ve...

Today I came across weekly writing prompts via Poets & Writers. I love the challenge and think more short form will definitely help my long form writing. This week I’ll try the prompt using a Pantoum, which is a 15th c. Malaysian style of poetic storytelling. See you in a few days!

Sometimes you can’t do more than chill out. And you shouldn’t. Give yourself that grace. You’re worth it! (And don’t forget to have some spiffy socks. Makes a difference.)

Happy birthday, Agatha Christie 🔎 136 years after her birth, we're still reading her books, watching her plays and debating whodunnit We can't wait to celebrate her from 30 October 2026, when Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery opens - you coming? link.bl.uk/ubb

Brunch day with our eldest! Met at the Blue Atlas in Richmond, VA - a welcoming mini-cafe with a globally inspired menu. We opted for cappuccino while she, being younger, I mean more adventurous, chose the Iranian Soda (club soda with cucumber, mint, lime, and a dash of apple cider vinegar.) 10/10.

So my Substack is mostly for my writing exploits. B-Sky I save for my art and cooking ventures. I may add more daily comings & goings, though. More music, yes? Definitely more music. Anything but politics. I don’t have the patience for it.

It’s “Labor” Day? I’ve just cleaned the kitchen (again), started the dishwasher (again), started the laundry (again) & made a pot of strong coffee to follow my earlier SBux. Lunch was a piece of cheese between 2 tortillas. Now? Time to read - bookclub in 8 days. Oye!

Made open-faced sandwiches for dinner. Grilled sourdough bread, a bit of spicy mustard, a slice of havarti cheese, all topped with a nice slice of heirloom tomato. Yes, cracked pepper, too. The best part? The tomato. Delicious! (And from Canada!) #food #tomato #Canada
Delicious heirloom tomatoes are available at our local grocer. Canadian product. Worth the extra 175% cost. Take that, stupid little man.

Can’t blame a squirrel for trying. If it steps on the bird perch, the feeder closes, so the best option is to shake the feeder in hopes some feed falls to the ground. The ducks at the base of the feeder think this is great. Maybe they’re in cahoots? #birdfeeder #squirrel #theyareuptosomething
