Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Examples compare music stores, churches, and AI to show how information architecture shapes experience. I propose these six attributes as a neutral vocabulary for information architecture critique, for talking about the qualities of an I.A. rather than talking about the quality of an I.A. 000

Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 01/10/2026And of course frame drift is a natural part of the collaboration process, but not all frames that shift have a significant impact on the overall direction/strategy, so you only have to stay vigilant on the critical ones. 000
Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 01/10/2026One of my super powers is I can see the probable future. When that is the best (better) probable future, one annoying thing is that I have to pay close attention to some conversations and intervene when they begin to veer toward a less good probable future (the frame starts to shift). 110

Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 24/09/2026So when you’re not the smartest person in there room (you should be pretty smart in at least one box), it’s good to have the self-awareness to know where you’re not the smartest person. Same thing with effectiveness. 100
Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 24/09/2026A good team isn’t just the one that has smart and/or effective people to fill each of the boxes. It’s the one that can communicate, so the smart, ineffective people can tell the effective people what to do and the effective people are smart enough to translate that into what would be most effective. 100
Austin Govella @austingovella.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I wish I’d known when I started about the different strengths people bring. And they map along quadrants. One axis is smart and effective. The second axis is people, clients, the work, and your own org. It’s hard to be smart and effective in all areas at once. That’s why you need good teams. 110
