There are other... alternatives. I don't do it very often now, Disney+ in Australia has all the games, but there's always a way if your willing.

Seeing envelopes arrive with a bunch of strange stamps in the corner, sometimes several post office stamps as it crossed the world, was exciting. I would try to track on a world map where the letter had been. The world was enormous.

🤣🤣🤣 I had a pen pal in India briefly, but I had no sense of humour or ability to relate to foreign concepts at that age. I was a very direct child, 'no nonsense' my mother would tell people. My teachers called me 'abrupt'. My letters would be educational instead of friendly 😒

I loved having pen pals when I was a kid. I would write 10 page novels on beautiful stationary. I wish I kept it up, but at the time I lived in a little country town bubble. I didn't appreciate what I had.

I'm 53 and I love the fact I have these conversations with you guys across the world. My 13yr old self, who would sneakily watch hockey highlights on late night sports shows, would be busy writing letters to all of you on pretty paper, waiting weeks or months to hear back from you 😀

I understand his reasons, and they are valid. He knows he'll enter a pressure cooker the moment he arrives, so it makes sense to hone these skills. From a fan perspective though, I'd rather see him polish those skills next to Demidov.
