I also love that the two times i can find "pitch" romance mentioned, it's specifically in the phrasing of "brewing pitch." Caliginous romance is coffee confirmed? lol

A screenshot from Homestuck. It reads: "Then go, my kismesis. Fume with the indign8tion I gave you. I can only pray it 8lackens our 8ond. I must know such exhi8itions agit8 him and hence why I 8other, otherwise it would 8e easy to dismiss him 8efore I partook. Let it 8e a gift of antagoniz8tion to you, my dear rival, on which you may 8rew pitch for me anew. And if it is true envy, a vermilion yearning I can't a8ide, then though it pains me it will 8e farewell."

Here's a #fantroll of mine! Her name is Tahlia. She has a jellyfish lusus and wears "scary kei" fashion.

A drawing of a fantroll based on Homestuck. She is a seaddweller. She's wearing a swimsuit and a skirt cover that looks like a jellyfish. her textured hair is styled into a short afro with the the sides styled such that it looks like a fauxhawk. She has a horn decoration and her nails have jewels. She's viewed from behind and her torso is turned to face the viewer. The background is mostly sand and some water. Above the image is text in the New Alternian script reading "Tahlia".

My OC Garfel (he/purr) playing Fiduspawn! I'm really happy with how this turned out. I drew a lot of it on stream (www.twitch.tv/visionarypar...).

Are you possibly thinking of the time Karkat referenced wishing he had auspisticized between Rose and Kanaya? www.homestuck.com/story/6018

A screenshot of text from Homestuck. It reads as follows:
KARKAT: OR MAYBE IT'S KANAYA'S FAULT? SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN A REALLY GOOD AUSPISTICE. MAYBE SHE COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS, IF SHE WASN'T SO PREOCCUPIED HERSELF.
KARKAT: NO WAIT! IT'S ACTUALLY MY FAULT AGAIN! IF I HAD BEEN ON THE BALL AND AUSPISTICIZED BETWEEN HER AND ROSE, SHE WOULD HAVE HAD THE TIME TO AUSPISTICIZE BETWEEN YOU AND GAMZEE!

I drew this a little over a year ago, based on a dress design by badlydrawnrose on tumblr. I still really like how it turned out. #homestuck #roselalonde

A drawing of Rose Lalonde from Homestuck. She is lounging on a dull purple therapist's couch. The couch's legs look like bones. Rose is smiling and glancing to the side with one eyebrow raised. She is wearing a purple headband and a floor-length, dark purple dress. The dress has lighter purple, off-the-shoulder sleeves. In the same color, there is rose embroidery on the top edge of the dress across her chest. the dress has a slight ombre by getting a little lighter at the bottom. Her hair and skin is colored white and is shaded in with grey.

It came from an Andrew Hussie Formspring response, i.e. Word of Huss rather than canon. Their Formspring is viewable here (wheals.github.io/formspring/f...), but I’ve also attached a screenshot of the relevant response.

A screenshot of an Andrew Hussie Formspring response about Kanaya Maryam. It reads as follows:

Is Kanaya a Lesbian?

I think this was pretty obvious a long time ago.

But then, homosexuality in a society where bisexuality is the norm is kind of a different thing. Rather than being a swapped preference, it is a more exacting preference. Somewhat like a fetish for a particular gender. When Karkat was talking to John about it, he indicated trolls don't even have a word for the orientation. It's not something that appears to have any cultural significance to them. Which might seem odd, but then, they're aliens. Maybe a way to view it is how we view people with more exacting preferences, like certain fetishists. We don't actually have common words to describe most people like that, and their presence doesn't have nearly the same social ramifications which homosexuality does. Humans seem to make a very big deal out of homosexuality, while treating other forms of preference as barely worth noting. When Karkat was <3< hitting on John, the reasonable human response was to say "I am not a homosexual." But the troll response would be more like "Sorry, not interested," without invoking orientation. Very much like a guy with a fat fetish isn't too likely to reject a thin girl by saying "Sorry, I am just this HUGE chubby chaser, so I must decline." (CUE FAT VRISKA JOKES AGAIN)

Not that any of this changes how we view Kanaya. From a human perspective, she's an unmistakably gay character.
