To me, the idea of a single house at the end of a valley feels does not feel distant or alone, but rather really cozy, away from the noise and chaos in cities and sometimes even towns, and I wanted to evoke that calm feeling with this piece.

I wanted to catch this feeling of solitude, not in a negative way - but rather the feeling of living at the end of a valley where you're left alone to enjoy slow mornings or read a book in your garden in the afternoon.

I've been playing a lot of World of Warcraft recently with friends, and I just had to pay tribute to it's beautiful landscapes with this one. It originally started with just the moon. Of course, Eversong does not have cypresses like these, but they felt fitting to me.

So I went for gouache as I felt so inspired by the paintings of Hans Emmenegger. The colors feel really nice and full of pigments, I loved painting this one (you know I've always loved trees and rocks, so everytime I try out a new medium, I'll go straight to these 🤣) Have a good weekend! Simon 🌿

Lately, I've been spending way too much time exploring Norway on Mapcrunch and see all the houses, mailboxes, farms and barns, lakes and forests. I fell so much in love with that red tone against all the greens that I just had to paint this piece. Hope you like it - have a good week! 🌿 Simon

The piece particularly speaks to me as it is vast, I can "breathe" when looking at it and I feel somewhat small compared to this huge world, which is a nice feeling to have. Overall, I think I should paint more copper plated roofs, I really like the look of them. Have a good week! - Simon
