I thought I would have a peaceful day of writing, then seeing my friends gig in the evening, instead I am whisked off to go watch a helicopter opera. It will be my first opera and I need to bring headphones and stand in a rainy airfield for an hour. Am I supposed to dress formal for this??

Sounds so nice! I've been talking about it in comic places, it certainly doesn't need to fit us but no other social media has even really bothered to at all so anisota is already a WIN for me!

That's super exciting! I don't have much reach, but at the moment just extolling anisota on my other social media, hoping people will come join us :)

Also on bsky I think it depends on how many you post but sometimes they're also made smaller and cropped so the users have to click twice if they're even interested at all. Just love what anisota's done to allow the focus to return to the images :)

Honestly I just love how you can scroll easily on one page from one image to the next. It seems like everything's become a carousel, if you look at comics on Insta they're often with UI in the way and in the grid view they get cut off. Love how simple and focussed this looks 🤌

So cool, I had no idea about the cow aunties! Can't wait to learn more 🐽

Restoration Cows: Mature cows that live on the remote island of Càrna in the Scottish Highlands whose only task is to graze.. for conservation #Comic

Comic shows cows in the distnt on Carna Isle and the conservationist talking of them being introduced there and how they help create deadwood habitat and help young seedlings to grow and that they will never leave the island

Ooooh wow, I love this! It looks like the start of a Tintin-esque adventure! Will we learn more about these coos?! Gorgeous bgs and characters as always :)

Look how good my comic looks on @anisota.net ! I feel like this is the place for reading #comics the way they're meant to be read, away with the damn collapsed ugly galleries! 😍

Some items I've lost. I thought about doing the same with things I've found but looking back, the most memorable ones where when I found money (sadly?)! #comics #autobiocomics

Ah gosh, Edinburgh was where I moved first in Europe! Found it tough to make friends at first, as there were so many established friend groups. But eventually it got better, and then I started Uni :) My friend and talented artist lived in Scotland too @aindrizzle.bsky.social !

The loneliness after a big move is real. In my life I think it took some years before I found myself, and people who accepted me... Hoping you find your people soon!! 🫂

This summer has been a doozy but tbh I doodled the first panel and it made me laugh so I had to draw this. Wishing you blue skies, gentle breeze & croissants this end of summer; hope you are well #comic #autobiocomic

wow, they're so sweet! 🦇

I guess comics are a pretty specific niche... It just feels like shouting into the void and faintly hearing echoes, that's how quiet it is on the comics front. I especially love informal autobio stuff, but that low-follower stuff is even less likely to make it over to here.

Oh wow that would be so cool! I guess I would need to make a forest path for that function whenever it's implemented. Thank you so much for all your work!

Ahh and one more thing (also on the comic front), is there a way to make a walk in the forest and see only original posts with images? I have also fallen prey to retweeting stuff wily nily but some days I just want to see people's art and comics.

I have been mentioning it to people but everyone is so hesitant to commit to somewhere else (tbh I was too, and it must apply to a lot of small comic people... Discouraging to post and post and get no views). I really like the anisota layout so hopefully it will be how i properly make the jump!

Ahh so cool! I need to experiment with markers... I'm so chicken with physical mediums!

I think my biggest problem (with twtter-likes) is that people are hesitant to join. I would LOVE to leave insta forever but it seems to be the only place to post or read comics. I don't know what the solution is but would love to have more comic posting friends come over here & fill my forest walks!

OK tried out @anisota.net as recommended by @@debbieohi.com and absolutely love it! I wish more social media was created this way, beautiful & simple, framing individual posts as if they were real human expressions. It also compelled me to look up and follow more of what I love most (comic posts)!

Oooh this is great, I love it! I'll try to hang out more in this forest, thank you for the recommendation <3
