Felt like modelling something in a different style to what I usually do so I made the head of @penbeetle.bsky.social's OC, Guntz! The eye uses several boolean/solidify functions to maintain its frame and shape when flattened by an invisible cube for the eyebrow!

As far as the controllers… yeah idk. Probably not having the ergonomics kit is rough. They are quite bulky too, but that’s cause they have traditional controller inputs. Comfort wise, I’m surprised you don’t notice more of a difference. Personally the index wasn’t a very comfy headset for me.

My boi, basically every standalone headset has shit battery life, not gonna lie. Also, tip: using the 120/144hz display modes will greatly increase power consumption. If you’re not producing that many frames in vr, might be best to lower to a more reasonable refresh rate.

What sucks is that the interview went really well. I worked well with the engineer on the problem, didn’t have any massive knowledge gaps, and have great projects on my resume that showcase my knowledge of HDL. This has got to be a clear case of HR just discarding me for one reason alone. (Fuck HR)

Welp, I didn’t even get second round interview. Guess I proved my own point that employers these days just want ChatGPT applicants and nothing else. Even with crazy FPGA work and knowledge that I have, no one gives a shit about me cause HR is too busy jerking themselves off about GPA.

The worst part is when the professors see a bunch of ppl get an A on something they think they can add on more work because they think their students are understanding the concepts.
