That shot of Brennan looked an awful lot like the Make Some Noise set. But you wouldn't dare, would you?

Andy Weir saying The Martian has no social commentary reminds of @jacobgeller.com's excellent video about the Call of Duty devs saying their game "isn't political" and what that actually means. youtu.be/FtCV421T52s

David Simon ("The Wire" creator) on NPR almost 3 years ago.

A portion of a transcript of an interview between NPR journalist Ari Shapiro and "The Wire" creator David Simon:

SIMON: I don't think AI can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.

SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an AI and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.

SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Is there any chance that dropout has the ability to get the unreleased DHMIS pilot out of copyright limbo or whatever happened to it?

I love the part in Tim Rogers' review of Pac-Man where he just spends 10 minutes listing articles that say some variation of that exact phrase. youtu.be/GPzVlTgZoCg?...

Yeah but it's often not formatted properly for listening on its own. E.g. Your Best Nightmare is split into several different audio files for each section.

Turns out the margin could have contained the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem, he just needed to run it through ChatGPT first.

This seems to be a variation of the program Toby used to make this post from October, indicating that the Sweepstakes update has been in development for at least that long. bsky.app/profile/toby...

I see what you're saying.

Why is it weird timing to have a promotional ARG build up to the release of a video game?

100

Art changes as the artist works on it. The deltarune that we would have gotten had toby released it all at once is not the same game as the deltarune we are getting now. If you're waiting for the game to release all at once, you're waiting for a version of the game that won't ever exist anymore

I didn't know about Splice using AI, and I can't find anything about that online (googling it is hard since there's a completely unrelated program also called "SpliceAI"). Can someone provide some context please?

I don't watch sports, but ESPN has a streaming service (ESPN+) which is probably what you're looking for. It's also available in a bundle with Disney+ and Hulu if you care about either of those.

Is there any chance we could see the 2 and a half hour cut of the episode? I'm a video editor and I'd be really interested to see how you edit such a massive production down to a manageable length.

August @augustdeer.com · 08/04/2025

As a professional magician, I can fairly confidently say nothing important was cut from the video. If you're implying the notepad was switched, it wasn't.

August @augustdeer.com · 08/04/2025

This episode is responsible for me finally figuring out how to make my professional magic act good, for reasons entirely unrelated to the actual magic portion of the episode.

Hey Toby, I noticed that the countdown timers on deltarune.com and deltarune.jp seem to be counting down to different times. Is this a bug, or is Deltarune releasing 13 hours earlier in Japan?

The homepage of deltarune.com, with a timer counting down to Deltarune's release. The timer shows 59 days, 9 hours, 15 minutes, and 36 seconds left.
