iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Excuse the out of the blue-ness of this, but I was trying to find an old post of mine about "qul" and spotted this one. So you might enjoy the below, which prompted this search: audiofiction.co.uk/rss.php?rss=...

This is honestly the biggest problem I have with trying to catalogue every fiction podcast out there. I get to listen to episode one of everything. I have the time to listen to more than that for a painfully small number of shows.

Selecting the "Abandoned" drop-down in the big spreadsheet is always a bit miserable.

Little bit cynical about the British *podcast* awards including things not available on an RSS feed. It's a tiny hill, but I'm dying on it.

Or at least have well organised show notes, including all the credits. You can get a lot in there.

Cheers - will refresh on next database update.

Always enjoy when what I'm moaning about gets into "print".

Thinking about it, Madison on the Air might really have the OTR feel you want: audiofiction.co.uk/show.php?id=...

In the last 10 years, the licence fee has only gone up by £34.50/year. In the same time, for the same deal (HD, no ads), Netflix has gone up by almost double that, £67.08/year. And that’s just for Netflix, not the ENTIRE BBC.

Curses. I only spotted the other day while someone was asking about databases. Possibly gone forever.

Don't know which one to start with? Here are my top 161. That still too much choice? Start with the very top of the list, 36 Questions. Unless you're my wife, who it made cry, you'll probably enjoy it. audiofiction.co.uk/collections/...

Yeah I'm picking a fight in a different discord group. It's a bit petty - they've got functionality that I'd like to build in one day, and more discoverability can only be good. But we've spent quite a lot of effort on making sensible systems, so having them rip it off is irritating.

Getting unreasonably annoyed at someone who has decided to create their own fiction podcast database by just scraping the existing ones. We've spent years doing this tagging - very irritating to find someone trying to profit off it.

You want cursed? Here's an AI-voiced podcast that came out suspiciously quickly after the pager bombing. Anything Caloroga does is similar: audiofiction.co.uk/show.php?id=...

Yeah thus far I'm only up to two (not AP).

Also - if you do it as a podcast, I'm happy to create a new RSS feed and host that for you so it's always accessible in podcatchers, not just in the archive.

Hi - just doing a ping because we previously discussed actual play data and series seeker, and I've recently realised it's gone down. Do you know if it's going to come back, or if not any contact I could try and preserve the data?

Damn, now you'll never get to talk to them about the health benefits of having a slug in your ear.

Very much looking forward to Adam turning to "camera" and dramatically intoning: "End of season one."

Recommend smashing Small Prophets. Only 6 episodes at half an hour each.

Stop giving your elevenlabs ai voice "cast" names in a cast list. They don't exist!

The correct answer is to block the account.

I think my back might appreciate a go on this.

I run a feed that's just first episodes, to help people find new fiction podcasts. If there's an ungodly number of adverts on your short episode, I sometimes just skip you.

I have come to appreciate line flubs left in recordings of single narrator audiobooks. Rather more convincing that they're not AI.
