Yes. And a nuance: NY law excludes "voluntary intoxication" from the consent def, i.e. if *you choose* to drink/drug. If the drink or drug is slipped to you unbeknownst to you, that is ok. My question: so then that's like saying she *chose* to wear a short skirt. Crazy. That law needs changed ASAP.

I was *actually* there and saw how well my neighbors lived in the '60's as a Ma Bell union equip installer, our "rented" black rotaries on the wall that were cheap, and svc costs low. Breakups in the '80's caused greedy price rises and no more free phones.

When Ma Bell started breaking up, unions got weaker and weaker. Think: MA Bell > Bell Atlantic > Verizon with fewer and fewer unions. Now, the shoe is on the other foot and consolidation helps R's keep unions off bigger/more properties. R's use Antitrust laws only to their benefit, either way.

Right. Big Ma Bell was union, more of a gentle giant. I think Baby Bells were still union but when those sold off, unions disappeared. Linemen, installers, telephone operators were all union. Strong pay, fair hours, and good pensions.

I remember when it worked. Big giants were broken up. Ma Bell had to break up into Baby Bells. It was the weirdest feeling... no more single massive Bell Telephone that ran all the phones in the country. Ma Bell was great, tho. High quality phones and lines. Linemen retired with great pensions.

Why are we, across the nation, allowing only 1 mail delivery method: USPS? I propose that if T's USPS does something nefarious that you send our National Guard to deliver our ballots, similar to the old postal strike. In future years can PA hire FedEx, DHL (these guys have GREAT tracking), UPS, etc.

From SSA. DHS and SSA were ordered to work together to create a federal list of American citizens and post it on USPS website. Then USPS will scan ballots rec'd from states against that list. They want to make states create new envelopes with barcodes that will scan against the list. A nightmare 🙄.
