Very happy with these test shots I got this summer with my new (old) camera #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artonbluesky #photography #believeinfilm #ilford #nature #forest #trees #EastCoastKin #Pittsburgh #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A forest waterfall shot high ISO black and white film stock. Long exposure draws the water into thin streaks that cascade down rocks on the right side of the image. A large thin tree trunk rises on the left, reaching toward a bright white sky.

An enormous rock ledge hangs across the center of this black and white film photograph. Above it grows a dense forest of trees and below it a broad waterfall cascades down and a few small shrubs cling to the sheer rock face.

Attension @attension.art · 05/10/2026

Admittedly I've got a pretty adversarial relationship with this series even as it's in its earliest days. Still work on it persists #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastkin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A deep red gemstone brilliantly shining in an otherwise completely black image. Lens flares surround it creating an odd asymmetrical halo.

Attension @attension.art · 01/10/2026

Been waiting all year to post this one. Officially October! More here #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artonbluesky #photography #mobilephotography #trees #nightphotography #EastCoastKin #Pittsburgh #ECK #UpperLawrenceville #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A cobblestone street in Pittsburgh's Upper Lawrenceville neighborhood late at night, softly illuminated by a single streetlight. It is entirely surrounded by dense trees just about to lose their leaves at the changing of the season.

Attension @attension.art · 30/09/2026

Still working on this series in my free time from my main work. Here's a still from a stop motion test that I always liked #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #macro #EastCoastKin #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A macro photograph of a set of rock samples illuminated in magenta and orange light. Above the rocks found at the bottom of the frame is a piece of abalone shell is suspended against a dark blurred background.

Attension @attension.art · 29/09/2026

Gotta say this is the first test that I'm thrilled to just simply look at. Beginning to finally feel I'm able to make these with some real expression #art #flashes #clouds #artsky #contemporaryart #patreon #digitalart #blender #b3d #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A dramatically lit cloud head rises through the center of the frame. From above an orange gold light shines down and from inside the cloud itself a pale bluish-white light glows. The cloud is set against an abstract background of magenta and burgundy divded by a bright blue arc.

Attension @attension.art · 26/09/2026

When I saw the theme for #BlueskyArtShow I immediately thought of these #lights that I miss so much! Got a little tribute to them here #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artonbluesky #photography #mood #nightphotography #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A city street late at night. Sodium vapor streetlights illuminate across the road dense tall trees in this foggy scene.

Attension @attension.art · 22/09/2026

I've built enough of these that I'm satisfied with their shape and their structure for now. On to the fun stuff - adding more dynamic lighting #art #flashes #clouds #cloudscape #artsky #contemporaryart #patreon #digitalart #blender #b3d #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A dynamic image of computer simulated cloud. The orange colored cloud seems to rush toward the viewer and expand outward. At its center a burst of pinkish white light remains only slightly obscured.

Attension @attension.art · 19/09/2026

🔅Patreon Release🔅 My final post for #BlueskyArtShow! From my main cloud series, it relies heavily on #golden hues. It also happens to be my 50th piece released! #art #flashes #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A large somewhat imposing cloud head. It seems to radiate a golden orange light and is set against a teal sky. It's brightest parts shine bright white creating bold diagonal streaks across the image.

Attension @attension.art · 19/09/2026

Always loved this flower which seemingly radiates #golden light, interrupted by blue and green. #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Gold colored flower at night surrounded by soft focus red colored foliage, a blue green vertical streak interrupts the frame on the left side of the image.

Attension @attension.art · 19/09/2026

Does this orange glow veer into the #golden? I think so! A really old one going way back for #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #photography #sky #astrophotography #stars #trees #nightphotography #tropical #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

$A stand of palm trees at night under sparkling stars. Refracted light creates an arc of orange glow across the righ side of the image.$

Attension @attension.art · 19/09/2026

Kicking off my posts for today's #BlueskyArtShow with this recent cloud test bathed in #golden light #art #flashes #clouds #cloudscape #artsky #contemporaryart #patreon #digitalart #blender #b3d #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A tall cloud head rises through the center of the vertical frame. It is dramatically lit by a spot of golden light leaving its rear segments in dark bluish shadow. The sky behind it is a vibrant red tinged with magenta.

Attension @attension.art · 15/09/2026

An entry in the 'too many colors' category to be sure. But good practice combining focal planes together which is something I'm using a lot in this series #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Several mineral samples shot together in a close up macro photograph. Many colors of light blend to illuminate them in bright green, deep red, magenta, and pink.

Attension @attension.art · 08/09/2026

Suppose I'm figuring out just how claustrophobic I can get these to feel. And there's that green again #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Two mineral samples meet in this close up macro photo. The one in the bottom half of the image is smooth and organic looking while the top sample has a rough and igneous texture. They are dramatically lit in orange and emerald green light.

Attension @attension.art · 05/09/2026

My final post for #BlueskyArtShow today, a #minimal single flower surrounded by a vibrant color field #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A single flower stands out in focus among dense tropical foliage. The background of the image is very much softened and blurred and illuminated in magenta, violet, and lavender light, the separate colors blending at their edges.

Attension @attension.art · 05/09/2026

For sure most of my works are solidly maximalist but today's #BlueskyArtShow theme is #minimal and I've got those too! #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Dense tropical foliage illuminated in indigo, lavender, and magenta. Nearly all of the image is in extremely soft focus displaying a wash of gradients transitioning between the three colors. In the foreground is a single stem in sharp focus, leading the eye out of frame.

Attension @attension.art · 05/09/2026

These macro plant studies are by their nature #minimal. For today's #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A single long leaf is in sharp focus amidst dense tropical foliage at night. The soft background is illuminated in magenta and violet light as the leaf itself glows a faint pink.

Attension @attension.art · 05/09/2026

This is probably the most #minimal piece I've ever made #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #photography #trees #nightphotography #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

$The trunks of two palm trees span the frame vertically in this night photograph. Faint blue stars show in the black sky as light from out a frame flares in orange and, between the two trees, refracts into a vibrant rainbow.$

Attension @attension.art · 05/09/2026

🔅Patreon Release🔅 Revisiting a #minimal piece I released a couple of months ago for today's #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Very close up macro photo of the base of a tropical plant at night. The foreground is in sharp focus and lit with red and purple light, the background soft focus and lit in deep blue.

Attension @attension.art · 03/09/2026

🔅Patreon Release🔅 Believe it or not I dread making photos of forests. So hard to give them contour and shape. I like this one though #photography #art #flashes #landscape #forest #green #contemporaryart #nature #trees #patreon #color #EastCoastKin #pghartist #pittsburghartist

The edge of a verdant forest. The bottom of the frame shows a stretch of large rocks, wet by a nearby waterfall. They ground the image as they stretch into the distance, surrounded on all sides by insistent creeping green.

Attension @attension.art · 02/09/2026

Fought a lot with the color on this one. Ended up reasonably happy with how it turned out though #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Mineral and metal samples photographed with a macro lens. A low depth of field creates ample blurring and these objects are dramatically lit in deep blue, magenta, orange, and green light.

Not a flower though it really does feel like one doesn't it? Been test shooting some of the new mineral samples l've gotten recently #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A sample of various crystallized minerals, shaped vaguely like a flower bud. It is lit in orange and gold light with magenta highlights around its edges, set against a nearly pure black background.

Attension @attension.art · 22/08/2026

Speaking of #chaos, here's one I've put off doing a final version for. It's going in so many directions and choosing the next step is daunting! #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A dense cloudscape with gold light pouring in from left of frame.

Attension @attension.art · 22/08/2026

This one always had a bit of #chaos to it! For today's #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

An abstracted photo of a cloud head against an orange and yellow sky. The cloud is shown in sharp contrast and hightlighted in aqua and blue green shadows.

🔅Patreon Release🔅 Really happy with the layout of color in this image, where colors blend and where they’re separated. #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #ECK #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Branches at the base of a tropical plant. The rough texture is illuminated in gold and orange light as the soft focus background leaves are lit in a muted blue green color.

Attension @attension.art · 18/08/2026

I am not thrilled with how the color sits in this shot. Was hoping for a lot smoother blending but it’s acceptable as a first try with this material. #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A large piece of raw copper photographed with a low depth of field using a macro lens. Some substance sparkles subtely in the soft focus background lit by a deep red light. The copper itself is colored with indigo and warm reddish orange.

Attension @attension.art · 15/08/2026

A note to my Patrons (and anyone else who cares to read) on what I've been up to. And a reminder of the ample life growing from the #earth at the bottom of the forrest #BlueskyArtShow #art #photography #plants #forest #mushroom #nature #patreon #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A medium close up photograph of a decaying log lying on the floor of a forest. It is covered with vibrant green moss and at its center a single mushroom grows up out of the ground, illuminated in what appears to be a reddish gold light.

Attension @attension.art · 10/08/2026

🔅Patreon Release🔅 Taken from my first outing for this series. Still realizing what I'm making here but looking back this one does belong with the latest. #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A vast swirling cloudscape, its background illuminated with bright white lights while the foreground is darkened with maroon shadows. The middle ground where these two areas meet is tinged with vibrant gold.

The #water and night sky blending here for today's #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #abstract #contemporaryart #patreon #photography #sky #clouds #ocean #landscape #nightphotography #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A soft focus abstracted seascape at night. Sand is lit by golden light, deep blue sky shows a line of clouds stretching toward the horizon.

Attension @attension.art · 08/08/2026

For #BlueskyArtShow here's one from a series of nighttime seascapes. The #water toned in complementary gold and bluish hues. #art #flashes #abstract #contemporaryart #patreon #photography #sky #clouds #ocean #landscape #nightphotography #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

An abstracted seascape at night. Golden toned clouds suggest a summer storm and a distant lightning strike is visible on the horizon. A small incoming wave creates a bright bluish-white band across the frame.

Attension @attension.art · 08/08/2026

One more piece for #BlueskyArtShow. #Water just one of many layers in this nighttime seascape #art #flashes #abstract #contemporaryart #patreon #photography #sky #clouds #ocean #landscape #nightphotography #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

An abstracted seascape at night. A source of light from somewhere out of frame to the right lights the sky’s clouds and to a lesser extent the dark brown sand. There also appear to be numerous vertical black streaks across the field where ocean and sand meet.

Attension @attension.art · 18/07/2026

Always loved this tree, crooked but #growing nonetheless. #BlueskyArtShow #photography #art #flashes #landscape #kunst #contemporaryart #green #trees #patreon #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A gnarled and obliquely rooted tree trunk rises and curves upward out of frame. The tree is set against a small vibrant green hillside and a distant overcast sky.

Attension @attension.art · 18/07/2026

For #BlueskyArtShow plumeria #growing strong. I miss making these more overtly botanical pictures #art #flashes #contemporaryart #patreon #photography #plants #garden #leaves #nightphotography #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

The leaves and blossoms of a plumeria tree at night. Brightly illuminated from below against a flat black sky. The frame is subtly but amply blurred at its edges.

Almost feel as if they are #growing in the dark. #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #contemporaryart #photography #trees #nighphotography #tropical #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Dense tropical foliage at night, illuminated on the left by blue-green light and golden light on the right. Edges of the image are soft focus and contain large in-lens reflections.

My first post for today's #BlueskyArtShow, these lush plants #growing densely together #art #flashes #contemporaryart #photography #trees #nightphotography #tropical #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A dense garden of tropical plants at night. Some are illuminated in a reddish magenta spotlight and many are very softly blurred, creating a sense of depth and liveliness.

Attension @attension.art · 17/07/2026

Used the very same model and lighting as in this image but you can see the enormous difference made with the proper shader. Really happy with this one #art #clouds #cloudscape #artsky #contemporaryart #patreon #digitalart #blender #b3d #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A tall cloud head rises through the center of the vertical frame. It is dramatically lit by a spot of golden light leaving its rear segments in dark bluish shadow. The sky behind it is a vibrant red tinged with magenta.

Attension @attension.art · 15/07/2026

This project has come a long way since this very early test image. Getting ready to make a few more jumps forward with it soon #art #flashes #clouds #cloudscape #artsky #contemporaryart #patreon #digitalart #blender #b3d #clouds #EastCoastKin #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A digital render of two large cloud structures brightly lit against a deep lavender sky. A crudely constructed solid cylinder is bright green and pierces the main body of the foremost cloud.

Attension @attension.art · 13/07/2026

Really loving these greens lately and putting them together with warmer tones has helped both feel more alive. #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #macro #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A macro photograph showing an arrangement of mineral samples and a single dried rose petal. The dramatic light and low depth of field give the photo a dynamic feeling, the scene colored in emerald green, magenta, and deep red.

Attension @attension.art · 30/06/2026

Going through some old drafts and scrapped versions of works. Those lines frustratedly scratched in there really bring me back. #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A high contrast image of a cloud head at sunset against a deep blue sky. Hastily drawn dark scratches can be seen in the bottom left of the frame.

A macro photograph depicting dried orange flower bud suspended above a crystalline mineral sample bathed in magenta light. There is ample blurring and low depth of field in this image giving it expressive form.

Trying to get the most out of #macro effects in the lens for today's #BlueskyArtShow #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Numerous gold and purple circular shapes form an abstract burst of color and light.

Attension @attension.art · 27/06/2026

Today's #BlueskyArtShow theme #macro is definitely in my wheelhouse! Been working on these plant studies for a few years now #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Branches at the base of a tropical plant. The rough texture is illuminated in gold and orange light as the soft focus background leaves are lit in a muted blue green color.

Attension @attension.art · 16/06/2026

Focusing more on color and lighting than on layout for this one. The warm colors and the greens kind of give it an organic feel to me #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #macro #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Three mineral samples arranged and shot with a macro lens. One is a flat squarish stone, another long and thin and varegated, and the third an amorphous crystaline shape. They glow in varying mixes of orange, red, and emerald green light.

Attension @attension.art · 13/06/2026

Soft clouds and within them #sharp lines for #BlueskyArtShow today #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Magenta clouds against a pink sky, clouds intersected by and partially obscuring thin black lines oriented in multiple directions.

Attension @attension.art · 13/06/2026

Thought of this slightly scary older piece immediately when I saw this week's #BlueskyArtShow theme was #sharp #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A greyish cloud moving dramatically against a magenta and lavender sky. Dark black spikes stretch in all directions from its base and side.

Attension @attension.art · 12/06/2026

From my most recent set of plant studies. Much as I try to otherwise I must admit I do have some signature colors #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #plants #garden #color #nightphotography #macro #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A single flower stands out in focus among dense tropical foliage. The background of the image is very much softened and blurred and illuminated in magenta, violet, and lavender light, the separate colors blending at their edges.

Attension @attension.art · 09/06/2026

This test shot shows the levels of color blending that I’m hoping to utilize. Never know exactly which colors appear where until the exposure finishes #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #patreon #artsky #photography #abstract #minerals #color #macro #EastCoastKin #pghartist #pittsburghartist

Two crystaline mineral samples shot with a macro lens and dramatic colored lighting. The are illuminated in lavendar and deep blue and their edges are very close but not touching. Between them glows orange and gold.

Attension @attension.art · 06/06/2026

For #BlueskyArtShow here's a cloudscape #busy with so many textures! #art #flashes #kunst #contemporaryart #photography #sky #cloudscape #color #abstract #clouds #EastCoastKin #eck #pghartist #pittsburghartist

A vast cloudscape colored in purple, green, and blue. At the center a luminescent circle, not the sun but reminiscent of its light.
