For fans who feel Canada’s cocaine-powdered black jerseys are too understated
Netherlands National Team x Patta Pre-Match shirt, black with garish orange lions and chains and stuff all over it

What a match between Netherlands and Morocco. Between two such evenly matched teams, Netherlands deserves the loss if only for those unforgivably heinous warmup shirts.
Two Dutch national team players look sad. One is wearing a garish black and orange shirt.

My first extremely literally blue sky post, repeating some photos from the bad place while trying out @flashes.blue

Her platform so far sounds Bradfordesque: populist, conservative family-oriented, pro-car, pro-cop.
Screenshot of Toronto Star article with the following passage highlighted:

She pointed to several “quality of life issues,” such as taking a stroller down a clear sidewalk weeks after a snowfall, taking her kids on the subway without worrying about safety, and moving around the ward or connecting to other parts of Toronto without “debilitating” traffic.

(Enjoy the blossoms at your own risk, of course.)
A young cherry tree in blossom on a sunny, spring day is wrapped in utilitarian wire fencing. A city of Toronto sign is attached to the fencing that says, “Recreational Trail. No winter maintenance. Use at own risk.”

Anyway, the cherry trees in blossom at High Park are really lovely this time of year.

Sometimes I think everyone that works in Toronto Parks & Recreation hate people and hate beauty.
A huge temporary sign that says “Enjoy Cherry Blossoms in High Park” with an ad for curbex.com blocks the view of the cherry blossoms on a beautiful, sunny day in Toronto.Ugly, temporary fencing with a sign entitled “CHERRY BLOSSOM SEASON ETIQUETTE” and “PROTECTING HIGH PARK’S RARE OAK SAVANNAH” sits in front of a cherry tree in blossom on a sunny day in Toronto.Ugly plastic garbage and recycling bins with a Timbits box on top sit in front of a majestic, old cherry tree in blossom on a sunny day in Toronto.A long line of plastic portable toilets, each with a sticker saying “Super Save Toilet Rentals”, sits prominently facing a walking path in High Park in Toronto, with a row of cherry trees in blossom on the other side on a beautiful, sunny day.

After a long period of inactivity, I finally updated electoralcartogram.ca, my map of federal election results in Canada. It now includes data from every election and floor crossing since 2015 (including yesterday's by-elections!), and the map reflects the latest electoral district redistribution.

I really enjoyed seeing Jarvis Cocker and the rest of Pulp at the large branded outdoor concert venue in September

The Times also no longer uses Times New Roman. Their current typeface from 2006 is called Times Modern, also meant to work better on digital screens. frenchtype.com/Times-Modern 7/7 (And if you have no idea why I’m talking about all this, then congratulations, your Bluesky feed is purer than mine.)

Willow boops with teeth! (teef?)
Willow, a white dog with a black patch on one eye and a black nose smiles for the camera while showing two teeth in a very boopable pose.

Pulp performed in Toronto last night for the first time since 1998, and it was just an utter delight. They played until the venue’s curfew and Jarvis Cocker didn’t really look like he wanted to leave the stage after the second encore.

My kids didn’t believe a total solar eclipse was worth a long drive in search of clear skies. I wasn’t sure either but I’d read and heard enough folks say it was worth it—incomparable to even a 99% partial eclipse. Let’s just say I’m now plotting a trip to Spain in August 2026? Truly incredible.
