I spent part of the afternoon sitting in a café staring at a decorative green cactus against a green wall, thinking about how Richmond loves surfaces that calm people down. Sage green. Matte stone counters. Quiet jazz playlists. Scandinavian fonts. Places […] [Original post on pixelfed.social]
A pale green ceramic cactus with raised bead-like ridges stands on a glossy mint-colored countertop against a textured green wall. The vase has an elongated oval shape and a glossy finish that reflects soft light. Behind it, the wall is covered in geometric triangular patterns with a rough, brushed texture in varying shades of green. The image has a monochromatic, design-focused aesthetic with layered textures and muted lighting.

I carried a thought for years and it spoiled in transit.
Grainy, moody close-up of a wet street curb and sidewalk in muted reddish tones. A single bright orange maple leaf rests on dark asphalt near the curb, standing out sharply against the subdued background. The image has a vintage, textured look with visible noise and scratches.

Just hanging out with a great blue heron.
A tall blue heron stands motionless in shallow water near a cluster of lily pads on a sunlit pond. The dark, reflective surface of the water is speckled with floating debris and mirrors surrounding trees and rocks. Across the pond, a curved shoreline lined with pale stones borders a landscaped garden path with dense greenery and tall trees. Bright midday light filters through the foliage, creating strong contrast between shaded forest areas and illuminated grass and shrubs. A person in orange clothing sits in the distance near the far bank.

The onboarding doc said the system was stable.
A heavily glitched, motion-blurred view of a modern city. Tall buildings line both sides of the frame, their windows fragmented into red, green, and blue color offsets. An elevated rail or roadway cuts across the middle, supported by arched structures. Below it, wet ground reflects scattered lights, with streaks suggesting recent movement. The entire image has a distorted, pixelated quality, as if captured through a corrupted digital signal.

I wasn’t supposed to be there that night.
Dark rural scene at night with a small wooden structure lit by a single exterior light. The surrounding area is mostly in shadow, with a dirt or gravel path leading toward the building. Bare trees form a dense, uneven backdrop. The sky is filled with bright, heavy clouds against a black background. Film grain, scratches, and dust are visible across the image. Off to the right side, a faint human-shaped figure stands partially obscured in the darkness, distant and not clearly defined.

Same route. Same hour. Same delay between steps.
A lone figure walks down a dim suburban street at night, rendered as a dark silhouette against bright, blown-out light. The scene is heavily blurred and smeared, with repeated triangular light patterns stacking upward in the background and streaking diagonally across the frame. Parked cars line the left side, barely visible through haze. The pavement reflects light, suggesting recent rain. The overall image has a grainy, monochrome tone with strong glow and motion distortion, giving a disorienting, layered effect.

Same... same... Route. Drag. Same... almost... (Step). The body. Going. Hitch. (Breath) Hitch. (Breath) It won't stop. It can’t. The light is pulling. S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g. Thin as skin. Edges are bleeding out. Everything repeats... Slightly... Sideways […] [Original post on pixelfed.social]
A blurred figure walks runs on a city street, their body stretched and smeared by motion while fine horizontal lines ripple across the entire image like scan interference. Warm and cool tones mix in the background, but details are unstable and partially erased, giving the sense of repeated movement that never fully resolves.

Whatever this was has already degraded into something that can’t be recovered.
Dark, heavily pixelated night scene. A faint road stretches forward into a dim landscape, barely visible. A parked vehicle sits on the right as a soft, warm patch of light spills onto the ground near it. In the distance, scattered yellow and white lights form a blurred line of a town or hillside, partially swallowed by darkness. The entire image is low-resolution, with blocky compression artifacts obscuring detail and softening all edges.

Not a place not a place a repetition
Black-and-white, heavily grained image with a mirrored, kaleidoscopic layout. Fragmented silhouettes of a bicycle—handlebars and frame—repeat symmetrically around a bright, overexposed center shaped like an abstract X. The ground appears rough and possibly wet, with speckled noise obscuring detail. Dark vignetting closes in from the edges, creating a tunnel-like effect. The overall image feels distorted, layered, and slightly disorienting, as if multiple exposures or reflections have been stacked out of alignment.

Nothing lands. Everything passes. You speak. Shape thins. It answers through weight. The signal holds nothing. Not you. Gone.
Blurred green field with heavy vertical scanline distortion, soft light bleeding through, details smeared into streaks, image partially obscured as if corrupted or dragged during capture

That sudden, prickling sensation on the back of your neck that tells you that you aren't the first person to find this place. But you might be the last one allowed to leave.
Dark, moody night scene of an old rusted car sitting half-swallowed by tall grass in a dense forest. The image is drenched in deep violet and blue tones, with mist glowing faintly in the background between the trees. Most of the car is obscured by shadow, but its boxy shape, windshield, and one round headlight are still visible. The whole scene feels damp, abandoned, and eerie, like a forgotten vehicle left to decay in the woods.

The Gang - Zero Hits (2008) I might be one of the few to have ever heard this record. But this is a killer album. In terms of sound, it sits somewhere between U2, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Sonic Youth. Right up my alley. The mastering is a little loud […] [Original post on pixelfed.social]
