iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

So there is a longer story behind this, but TL/DR is I’m writing a faux lesson plan about self-portraits, realism vs uncanny valley/surrealism and how we view ourselves in many multiple factors and was using myself as example and accidentally made something cool? Anyway, good night.

Self portrait where half of my face is “realistic and natural while the other half is melting and dripping.

You know what I love? I love a good Creed meme. Nothing makes me laugh more than a Creed meme that I can send to my brother and his response simply be "wtf?" (Also, I do regret not seeing Creed when they were on tour a year or so ago, but I'm not spending $75 to see Creed, okay?)

I signed up for an artist trade and this is the piece I made for it. A little original piece to go along with a few stickers and an art print. I hope they like it! Thanks my mateys scallywags and friends for the vibes and stream! Y’all are the best! 🥰

Anytime I see stuff about that Elizabeth Holmes movie/documentary that’s about to come out, I think of this collage made by annabel_makes_stuff on Instagram. It’s just the uncanny valley of it all really.

I started this little drawing last night with the prompt "Family Dinner" and my brain instantly went to Resident Evil Biohazard and that crazy family.

Every time I see something about this movie, I'm reminded of this artist I came across that did a collage piece where they took images of Mark Zuckerburg and Elizabeth Holmes and switched out their eyes and both have the same kind of empty gaze so the face didn't really change. Gave me the creeps.

GM Here is your affirmation of the day.

A medieval inspired art of a princess head on the body of a worm that states "I would still love myself even if I was a worm."

But seriously, critique should be a telling of strengths and what might need some work of a piece through a different set of eyes. You can either have it be helpful tips or take it with a grain of salt.

I know most art students don’t like critique day, but I don’t mind it because I am legit my toughest critic. No one anyway else says can be any worse than what I have said to myself. Lol

Today, I had to- 1. Give a full presentation and teach an adaptive art lesson this morning 2. Attend a two hour mandatory art department meeting that required group participation. 3. Sit through a Contemporary Art history class which is two and half hours. My social battery is empty.

Put a finger down if you put yourself on a book buying ban because you already got a huge tbr in physical and e-books, but you magically ended up buying 6 books today and justified it by saying “happy birthday to me.”

I am randomly feeling nostalgic for Janet Jackson's "janet." album. What a great album to have. AND I never owned it on CD. Only on cassette. I was like 11 and had to beg my parents to buy it for me. Anyway. Back to homework, I guess. Good chat, everyone.

This of course leads to a bigger conversation about when bands as large as Slipknot (and others of course) really stop being bands and just become corporations that you clock in and out of. Which. Bummer. And not very metal, ya know?

120

TheAtomicPirateGirl @atomicpirategrl.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

My current internet Roman Empire is Jim Root from Slipknot being allegedly completely oblivious to anything that goes on with that band. Because my guy, what do you mean you didn’t know you were going to be touring with Marilyn Manson? What?
