I’m really excited to have finished my first rank of Chaos Warriors! There’s quite a few models left in the Battlemarch but it seems much less daunting now.

A beat like a heart a moment from failure. A rumbling, uneven thump that somehow drew Gorblad, Grobblefax and Tallach ever faster toward a blackened mire, a ripe stench and the last member of their command, Ranulf the Grumbler. #warhammer #warhammercommunity

Gorblad Daemonsmoocher’s unit gains a Standard Bearer! Tallach Godeater praises the Gods for his fellow Warriors of Chaos. While doing the banner I gained uncomfortable familiarity with what Inquisitors and Witch Hunters call a “moral threat. #warhammer #warhammercommunity

The fact that it’s Red Scorpions having this conversation makes it even sweeter. Nicely played.

The stain on his pants sealed the deal for me.

If you enjoyed the video, circle back and request some others you’d like me to attempt. I had a great deal of fun working on this one. Ave Imperator!

Ave Imperator, I made a video on one of my favourite Successor Chapters, the Crimson Fists. It was very fun to explore motivations and psychology rather than rote recitation of the background on a Chapter. I hope it pleases! #warhammer #warhammercommunity youtu.be/IKcZDz8Fsjk

The Cystwitch fell, pierced by Edmark’s frigid blade. Mocking laugher echoed as Belga’s tattered soul rose and was snatched away on the charnel amethyst winds of Shyish. Gelgus Pust had stolen a march on the party and the fate of the Lifespring hung by a silver thread of bright hope. #warhammer

There is only the Emperor. He is our Shield and Protector.

An oldie repurposed! I love it!

“Oh. I see. Well then yes, I accept the Emperor and the Imperial Truth. Oh that’s off the table now? Oh. I….hurrrrrrnloogityblarghblah!” Amazing art!

Highlights achieved with aplomb. Those are nice and silky.

Few know this, but the friend on Gorblad’s hip is no mere decoration. It whispers secrets to him.

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Champion of Nurgle, Gorblad Daemonsmoocher has appeared after some odd rustling in the bushes to join his brother in arms, Grobblefax. Bidding fond farewell to the coterie of Nurglings spilling forth from the shrubbery, the two set off to find the rest of their unit. #Warhammer #Warhammercommunity

Ah. So fear and dismay incarnate is taking form. Ten IW Terminators in my backline would be the sort of thing that would have me in a cold sweat during a game.

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I had many expectations for this day. Crystal: Mexican Sororitas. Me: Señoritoritas? This was not among them and yet! It has enriched my life considerably. Señoritoritas!

020

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

There were! And they were better goblins too! Not half like this mangy pack of loons you get these days. How the beardings will ever learn in this environment I can’t imagine. Ah well. You did well this day! Back to the Hold!

010

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

DAWI! Today we strike out another Grudge from the Damaz Kron! A pint of Bugman’s for the head of every grobi you bring me! KHAZUKAN KAZAKIT-HA!

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Love it! It looks like the evil spawn of a Necrosphinx and a lonely TS sorcerer! More please.

Hey! Grobblefax is getting some love! I hope this means that Blessed Nurgleth has a spot for him in the Garden.

Well. Here we go again. FOR ATOMA AND MUH LUCKY RAWK!

Please meet Grobblefax. Lord of the Colour Test Scheme and He Who Will Surely Be Removed From the Backline First. I wish I had started this hobby 20 years ago. Ten months ago, I had zero models. I now have over 100 and accelerating across three #Warhammer settings.

This has been a great DLC so far, not least because of all the great new characters. Thanks, CA!

Just built my first #warhammer The Old World model and I can’t wait to paint. THAT CLOAK!

Those shadows! Brilliant and very subtle stuff! I just grabbed the core set today. I hope mine turn out at nicely as yours.

That was indeed one that required multiple passes just to make sure that one was getting it all straight. Never easy to nail down a snake.

That skin tone you’re working on there is excellent. Love to see it!

I've got some slightly more serious lore videos coming up soon since the Lords of the Endtimes from Total War Warhammer 3 are landing soon. Stay tuned!

010

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

That’s gonna be a pretty busy start but as we know, the Chaos Gods like for their game pieces to break each other.

It’s no small task being one of Sanguinius’ bright sons. A little adversity gives him more character. For those we cherish, we die in glory.

I find this logic flawless and pleasing to the Omnissiah, font of all reason. All hail, the mighty Lays. Slightly oily, eternally crispy. Praise be, to the Michelob. May its lager-adjacent rays bathe the chosen one, Saint Messi, in this world and the next.

Then I look forward to seeing more as it progresses! I'm currently focusing on AoS since the lore hooked me in a bit ago but I'd still love to keep tabs on what is working well for my favourite cyborgs in red.

Everytime I see someone who makes a lot of effort with their bases I feel so lazy. Gorgeous work here. Did you wind up attaching him to the Vanguards or the Hastarii?

Enormous success with the paint job. Your lines are so clean!

110

Athacus @athacus.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

I feel like a fair swathe of the 40k models lack personality when contrasted against Age of Sigmar, but not here. Kravek is dripping with attitude and menace. Amazing paint job here as well!

So, I was playing #Darktide and checking out the origins. One of them is "High-born". "Your brother will be my heir. Your sisters will have political marriages. Your youngest brother will be a Captain. You will be castrated and turned into a high-spec sort of servitor" Peak #Warhammer40k.

Art is medicine. In my foolish youth I turned my back on it to my own detriment. Solemn silence and an artistic endeavor for a few hours is vital for mental health.
