I'm back #langsky with a new personal challenge! I haven't been doing the greatest with my Spanish studies so I'm doing a #60daysofinput challenge where I try to make as much progress in my listening & reading comprehension for Spanish within 60 days. I'll follow this up with another in February! ✨

docs still don't know what's up with my heart but I studied Spanish for over 3 hours the day before yesterday which makes up for the fact that I've studied under an hour today 🥲

today's #Spanish study topic was chosen for me by busuu! visits to the doctor. as someone with a few chronic conditions, this was a helpful lesson! spent almost two hours practicing on busuu and making notes. #studysky #langsky

notes about doctors appointments vocabulary and grammar for Spanish. it has sections for vocabulary, verbs, getting an appointment, saying the date, medical conditions with tener, other conditions, getting treatment, things the doctor might say, how often to take a prescription, and example sentences.

A useful thread with suggestions of alternatives to #Duolingo now the owner of the wee owl has decided to fire 70% of the people who are language specialists, and replace them with AI. I can't make governments stand up for people over profiteering, but I can vote with my feet.

back on my #langsky studies again with a goal in mind by Christmas. instead of posting my daily logs the night I finish them, I'm moving them to the mornings after because I'm going no tech after 8pm, but I still study after 8, so I can't post the logs then. ❌ and bye #duolingo. never AI-first!

Our public library gives access to Mango and Transparent language learning apps. These are less gamified and don't force you to repeat stuff. They also have online newspapers & magazines in different languages and host language meetups too. I prefer speaking, textbooks and media in L2 to apps.
