I think the biggest shocker of this adaptation was reminding anyone that the movie "She's All That" exists. Does anyone want to know about "She's All That" when it comes to "tormented nerd is actually beautiful" trope? letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil...

I can't believe all the strawberry syrup and tomato soup running around Derry in 30 year cycles; they really must stock up whenever that clown decides to show his decrepit face. letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil...

OK, the opening line of the movie by Robert Englund...won't say it here but it's probably as iconic as anything he'd say a decade from now as Freddy. letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil...

You have to give it up to Leatherface: unlike other serial killers, he's just a blue-collar guy who wants to make tasty BBQ; he just can't help where the BBQ comes from or his temper issues for gathering his meat. letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil...

And...I guess that's it. The reason I'm not going to go on is simply that...well, anything beyond this is just "the franchise makes money and is popular so we're keeping it going"...like so many other franchises unfortunately. I do applaude the creators for trying other things after this, but...

"The O.W.C.A. Files"...um...that happened. Not sure the continuity (so Doof's good...but Carl's not back at school as he said he was doing at the end of the show?), but it was...eh? A bit predictable but hey, more Doof is fine. The post-credits with the Fletcher-Flynns was pointless, though.

I have a bit of time but with the show technically over, I'm not really in the mood to do any more of my MST3K'ing anymore with this. So I'll watch "The O.W.C.A. Files" tonight and give my thoughts afterwards.

Will be doing a Stephen King movie marathon for October, but got an early start with a couple TV mini-series, and may do one or two more next weekend. letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil... letterboxd.com/ataru320/fil...

A ★★ review of The Stand (1994)

Notable as an adaptation of one of Stephen King's longest novels, the 1994 mini-series "The Stand" is an attempt to create a post-apocalyptic scenario to depict the battle of good vs. evil, of God vs....

Radio station: We're going to play 3 deep cuts from Prince. (proceeds to play 3 straight songs from the "Purple Rain" album) Me: HOW ARE THOSE DEEP CUTS!?!?

Change of plans: work stuff came up so the Muppet marathon is officially off...at least for the moment. I want to do something for the 50th of The Muppet Show and do a complete rewatch, but I guess I'll need to find another way to do it.

And...well...that's it. Summer's over, and so is "Phineas and Ferb". Yeah there's still "The O.W.C.A. Files", but I'll get to that probably a few weeks from now. I think I'm ready next week to play the music and light the lights...and obviously meet...them...for a big 50th anniversary celebration

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

All the weird things they did this summer. Let's just move on now.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I think we've had the most of this summer. So let's just move on now.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Time for Doof to figure his life out. And...now to contemplate on the summer, for some reason. COME ON PHINEAS!

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

We saved reality and got muffins and oranges back!

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Guess Doof and Candace saved reality together.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

This is just getting ridiculous.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

THE LOOP HAS SPED UP AND ISNT' FROM THE BEGINNING!?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

They're back; time to destroy the Inator!

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

55% success rate? Doof is not smart.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

They broke through, now will it be enough to stop this!?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Multpile rifts!? Oh boy, cars, not a good thing.

010

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

OK, we fixed it; and Buford named it because...because.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Oh yeah, there's still the tigers here.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Let's blow it up! Or not. Thanks Baljeet.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

So how are things going to resolve with Candace confessing?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Fixing it is by...um...hoping space rips save... No wait, it's Doof's Do-Over-inator!

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

What caused it? I mean they knew Doof doing things but...memory erasing.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

If time pockets fade then...oh no. Oh and capri pants on Isabella's cute.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Dull and empty? Well that was a weird world for those two.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

SHE REGAINED ALL HER MEMORIES THE MOMENT SHE ARRIVED HERE!? Well that went nowhere. Oh and spoons.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

So now Doof fixed the...no wait, that didn't help. And the others are here now so...

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

OK, they got the life preserver...but will it be enough to save them? And...now they're all erased.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

6 more weeks of summer...yeah that explains a lot.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

OK, space-time rip coming to...take groundhogs away.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I'm not even anymore but can we convince Perry?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

OK, I know that Candace knows too. And what the heck is Perry even doing?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Save the world, left to Baljeet? I guess...so?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Who is this girl and are we really friends!?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

One more Inator...oh to fix all that.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I guess it's time to fix things. And now what is Doof gonna do?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

What do good guys do? If he did that, he'd break the.. WAIT, THE CYCLE CONTINUES!?!?

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Is Doof happy? Depends on when you ask.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

They are ridiculous. Convoluted and ultimately pointless are synonyms. and Vanessa's right. Doof is...not that bad.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Time for the confession. And Doof is annoyed about this.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I wish they showed suspenders going away if that's their plan.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Huh, Vanessa's joining OWCA!? That's a plot development.

000

Ataru...That Guy... @ataru320.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Hiatus? Why not find a new nemesis for Perry; is Monogram that pathetic?
