That's not saying other art forms are in any way worse of course as their limitations can be the thing that makes them so beautiful imo. I just have a feeling that games are still seen as a "product first, art? sometimes" kinda thing whereas books and films don't struggle with that. Is it just me?

Hot take(?) I believe that video games are art in one of it's purest forms. Art is the expression and perception of our experience. Whether it's canvas, clay, page, photo or film, video games can encorparate all of these while choosing exactly how the player enguages (or doesn't engage) with them.

I know better and even I feel my brain rotting from seeing these all the time, I'm worried about all the people following and praising this stuff who are either misinformed or just dumb teenagers being fed this slop daily.

Potentially. I would love to make sure it does but currently I don't have the funds for a steam deck to test with and I don't know anyone who owns one that I can borrow so I won't be 100% sure for now. If I'm able to confirm it in the future I'll totally be announcing it tho!
