Honestly, as an artist I get it. Client wise I struggle with putting myself out there. And Gen AI definitely isn’t helping either. Your account is in a sense a “company” and I don’t expect people to buy from a company they never heard of. Luckily I recently got vgen code, but even that takes time.

As someone who’s now just starting out on vgen though I make it a priority for a month turn around time max. But im also a student so I always communicate if something comes up as fast as I can.

I find it kinda problematic how a lot of artists are normalizing taking very long breaks from doing their comm A few days or vacation week is fine but taking several months to a year break is insane, you can’t do that at your 9-5 jobs or you’ll get fired unless you’re on LoA for something serious

It’s genuinely so frustrating. My first time commissioning someone, I got ghosted for 5 months. At some point, I figured I wasn’t getting the art, and I moved on. Then, five months later, they randomly canceled the order without saying anything and issued me a refund. Like say something.

Question to artists that use many platforms to take commissions, how in the world do you keep up with all that? Just having Vgen and Google forms is alittle overwhelming lol I see some artists using Vgen, Ko-fi, DMs, Emails, Fiverr, etc.

I take comms on kofi, forms, fiverr and all my platforms (twt, bsky TikTok ect) I recently got a vgen code and plan on adding that. I have notifs on and check 3 times a day if I can since I’m a student. I put a disclaimer that I respond in 24- 48 hours. I’m a small artist so it never reaches that.
