OC Gwendolyn is a failed attempt at resurrecting a dead Guinevere. He is a homunculus who feels plagued by the idea that he is still trapped in her skin, unable to escape her legacy.

That said if we want to be extra pedantic and go back to the OG Little Mermaid from 1836 then her skin is described as "clear and delicate as a roseleaf" and I like to interpretate that as see-through cuz thats creepy/cool as hell

This is a dumb point to make I knooow: But Ariel would never act like this... in the Cartoon Series she had/made a friend who was not only deaf but also dark skinned, its one of the few episodes I remember. (This shit is from 1992/1994 btw.)
