Started the right sleeve yesterday. Just basted half of it with the design in white thread yesterday and then started doing the lines today. So thankful work has been light. I've been binging all of Make Some Noise as I sew this.

For the flowers, I traced them in Illustrator just so I could get a more accurate/symmetrical pattern and then I transfered those to a clear vinyl sticker paper. Used that as a nice way to pattern the basting marks. I also used it to make sure the back flowers were correctly spaced apart.

I got invited to do a #KPDH shoot next month, so I've been going han with sequins on a blazer from my closet for Golden Bobby 2.0. I started by basting the design with white thread on the front and then painstakingly sewing each sequin by hand. It's been a long but very rewarding process.

I had the brilliant idea to use clear vinyl stickers as stencils. I just wish I had thought of this earlier so I could've done it for all the other lines and flowers I had already done 😭

I started painting on my desk and then painted on the dress form bc my brain works better in 3D than 2D. (It's why I always drape pattern instead of block pattern lol) I also raided my button stash for 3 matching gold buttons to replace the black buttons. Really steps it up! Just sleeves left!

Next is painting! I opted for this rather than sequins or HTV because I wanted *speed* and also idk it's fun. First, I tested on the underside of the blazer collar using the applicator, a gold paint pen, and using a brush. Conclusion was to use the glitter paint applied with a brush.

Still some time left on this. Here's what I sent yesterday.

How can you claim to promote “human flourishing” when the very foundation of AI generation is exploiting humans—namely artists, writers, and other creators? AI models are trained on stolen work, taking work from creatives without their express permission. The developers of these AI generators want to profit off the labor and expertise of artists in order to make a quick buck for an inferior product.

Those “burdensome requirements” are necessary in order to keep the power and profit in the correct people’s pockets—the people who are actually creating the work, not these thieves parading as developers. If anything, there needs to be more regulations for AI. Requirements that every piece that is used to train the AI models has been sourced ethically with express, written consent from its original creator.

In an online climate that is already rife with misinformation and willful ignorance of facts and science, creating more dubious AI generated writings and images will only lead us further into chaos. Our education numbers are laughable on a global level (and will continue to worsen if the abolishment of the Department of Education comes to fruition); leaning into this faulty, biased, and immorally created AI will only tank our statistics entirely.

This is just one of many short-sighted, profit-driven, and misguided missteps that this administration has taken. Proving again and again that this administration is prioritizing profits over its own people.
