it's been a really wonderful 29th birthday, I appreciate all of the kind messages and calls from everyone. I even got a really nice job offer earlier today to top it all off. I'm so incredibly thankful :)

I think a SegaSonic the Hedgehog port would work really well on mobile if the track ball was replaced with swiping on the screen.

I don't know what the future holds, but i'm so happy for the memories. will keep moving towards more of them no matter what shape they take.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

This all mattered and i'm so happy that regardless of any circumstances I got to spend my time with the people I care about.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Time will pass and people will change, but i'll never forget that room in Chicago where we spent our first few years, or the ambitious trips through europe, or Ohio, Texas, Sydney, Tokyo, etc.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

I'll never get to have these moments again as they were, and obviously that's okay, nothing can stay like it was forever. but it's hard sometimes to remember that there still something to look forward to when the weight of the world feels unbearable at times.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

There was so much magic to finally meeting these people face to face and building something from scratch with no rulebook. I am so lucky to have been there for these formative moments, but it chokes me up that a project built from nostalgia has in itself become nostalgic.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

I got to live some of the best experiences of my life from 2022 all the way until now, but I can't stop myself from thinking about how innocent and passionate the early years of planning these shows truly were.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

- I go silent a lot when my mental health gets the better of me, - I overthink and stress about the smallest problems constantly, - I can be too ambitious for my own good sometimes, and every financially self destructive when it comes to these projects. despite this...

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Despite this; stress and anxiety constantly get the better of me. I am my own worst critic. and I want to be better than I am, but I'm usually frustrated in real time when I realize that I'm not.

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

I want to keep working on Millennium Strike, because I want to see my friends again and keep going on adventures.

There is so much to still be excited for in life, and there is so much art that will touch your soul; even if you haven't found it yet, or it doesn't come from where you expect it. Things will not always be okay, but hope can be found in the smallest forms of kindness things will work out I hope.

Evangelion is something I've returned to multiple times in my life to engage and process the problems I might be facing both in daily life and mentally. It explores things that are so dark, yet leaving me enough room to breathe and hope (especially with 1.0+3.0).

I've been hibernating from social media / dealing with financial stuff following getting back from Japan, and teaching a short summer class on Graphic Design. I apologise for not responding to everyone's dms right at this moment. Trying to get some kinda stability / normalcy back before i'm online.

My PS5 is already such a paperweight. Sony becoming more selfish with releasing is just another nail in the coffin. Hopefully Nintendo stays physical, but If I'm gonna be forced to buy digital games i'm playing on PC.

This also isn't some mind-blowing original statement. I just want people to care.

( all of this thinking came about because I had 5 or 6 friendly unique interactions with people during a grocery store trip and it put me in a great mood 😅. )

Ashton Simeon @ashtonsimeon.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

This does not erase the serious problems my country has, but it does give me a path forward into thinking about how we move forward from our current culture. We can be better on a global stage, and to each other; and it starts with remembering to be kind, help out, and give a damn.
