Damn, that sucks! Hope it’s nothing serious!

you skipping using a front-end? I know you don’t like em normally, but on the Thor they can be really cool.

that's awesome and so well deserved!

Wemby feels like a throwback to the old school Jordan/Kobe era of passion, determination and winning that has been missing for over a decade in the NBA. The team up, super team basketball as a business approach felt soul-less. Wemby feels like a breath of fresh air.

this is like watching an ascendant Jordan in early years. Unreal.

does it count as a recliner if it is the end side of a couch that has built in recliner functions?

Just curious (to engage with your madness) - how do you justify Yoshi's Island as "mainline" but Wario Land not part of the "land" games, since Wario Land is literally called "Super Mario Land 3" just like Yoshi's Island "Super Mario World 2"? YOU'RE NOT CONSISTENT DAN!

How fast was the battery drain? It's been my main issue with Switch 2 so far, curious with boost mode.

Loved the announcement! Is this planned to be Xbox Play Anywhere (just want to know if I can buy for Xbox and play on my Xbox Rog Ally X too)?

I literally just finished watching and reading a bunch of the same haha.

As a parent of two daughters that break literally everything, I love this 😂. What I have been doing is when they break something/lose something (like chargers for their devices), I make them watch as I transfer money from their allowance bank accounts to repurchase things, so they understand haha

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 27/11/2025

Yes!! 🙌🏽 ive gone down another rabbit hole upscaling Metroid Prime Hunters and using dual analog control 😂😂

Was listening to your podcast this am randomly as I was finishing Metroid Prime 3 again (first time since launch). Right when you asked if you should replay it haha. You totally should - it’s so good & gets forgotten for some reason. Can’t wait for MP4.

Hey John - I think an awesome video you guys could do would be the recently released PlayStation Cloud gaming on PS Portal comparison to XBOX Cloud gaming. Since XBOX is available on so much more hardware, could have Logitech GCloud, XBOX Ally and XBOX Ally X as different price points comparison.

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

Honestly, took some tinkering - but 1-2 weeks later, this might be my favorite gaming purchase in 30 years. Literally able to play anything/everything and once configured, the UI flow is perfect. Great performance and the best ergonomics in any device on the market. Amazing.

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

Now struggling with letting them play the normal Battle Royale mode too 😆. Gonna see how it goes, my eldest already plays the Rivals game in Roblox so I am going to soft approve this for now.

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

Congrats man - you got 2 new people to join in this house! Woke up to two parental request emails to download Fortnite from their Switch's. Woke up and asked them why, both said they wanted to play the Simpsons world in the Lego game in it. They went Roblox/Minecraft now to having Fortnite too.

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 19/10/2025

Something is wrong because it became even less reliable on the previous Ally X too since the Armory Crate Update and Command Center overlay (on windows versions not even running XBOX FSE). It should seamlessly switch from Desktop to Gamepad mode with Auto settings and did previously.

000

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 19/10/2025

I don't understand how Asus (this is more of an Asus thing than Microsoft) has broken the "Auto" Control Mode since the previous Ally X with these updates. It is the cause of most of the issues people are experiencing with controls "not working" when it just is stuck in gamepad mode vs desktop mode.

100

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 19/10/2025

😆😂😂 let me just install Bazzite on it so you can have the best of both worlds, Dan.

000

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 17/10/2025

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the podcast next week. FYI - If you want to make the icon experience on the XBOX FSE look a lot more uniform here is how I fixed it:

Grats, Stein! Upgrading from my current Ally X to the XBOX Ally X - can't wait to pick it up on Thursday.

Just wait until her first organic multiplayer gaming session is playing some garbage Roblox game with their friends. I was so disappointed that I used to go to LAN's and this is their version of the same thing in 2025, sigh...

I was just talking to the Xbox hardware VP on Friday about how direct power state management would have made the original Ally X perfect. Hilarious as I was talking to him, they were already going to reveal this today. This looks perfect.

Which player is that jersey of, Parris?

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

If anyone wants to know how to dual boot Windows and Bazzite btw, it is a lot simpler than it sounds. I used this video guide. With the new updates, system boots into SteamOS but when you want to boot into windows, you just select boot into windows with one button. www.youtube.com/watch?v=H422...

Also, ROG Ally X has double and sometimes triple the battery life in games then ROG Ally so that solves that problem.

100

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

What I have done with ROG Ally X: 1. Purchased the 2TB version 2. Partitioned the HDD into two 1TB each 3. Windows on one partition and Bazzite (SteamOS) on the other Windows has Gamepass games I want to play installed plus Fortnite, Halo Infinite, COD: Warzone - Bazzite for everything else.

100

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 08/05/2025

yeah, honestly xbox anywhere might be the most important ecosystem thing for the future.

000

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 08/05/2025

Greg just curious, was there a reason you chose this vs using the Ally X? I just bought one last week and am loving it, but wondering if you felt it was lacking vs playing this way on a plane.

110

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 24/04/2025

Exact same experience. 2 cancelled Target orders, Walmart cart kick and then managed to get Best Buy after an hour (and a pro controller). I remember the PS5 and Series X being pretty bad but also had Amazon as another option.

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

Now, the current trend seems overdone, without strategy & won't generate the same amplification by non-endemic channels, it's just part of the entire sponsorship suite that doesn't stand out. Trying something new with authenticity would be better. Hope someone else finds that approach.

000

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

WWE channels also amplified this across the board as a strategy bringing brand awareness to new heights to compete in the MMO genre with WoW's brand awareness dominance. It had ESPN, Bleacher Report and other non-endemic channels with articles/videos about an MMO's free trial and expansion release.

100

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

The New Day authentically being part of the show as true fans cosplaying the new classes in the MMO (especially Woods), amplifying it with multiple small easter eggs throughout the show (like a Moogle on their shoulders during Hardy Boys return, etc.)

100

Ash Thukral @ashthukral.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

It was a novel idea back in 2017, but the purpose then was at the same time removing the 14-day limit on the free trial as a new user acquisition campaign, bringing awareness broadly doing it to non-gaming channels.
