3: old OC — these two, Eratos and Toirdhealbhach (“Turlock”), have been kicking around since 2009 at least! plus a more “recent” (2018) attempt at a redesign of them (I think I also tried to rename them Telior and Elyran?) #art #bweirdOCtober #bweirdOCtober2026 #OCsky

a shaded graphite drawing of Eratos, a light skinned man with short hair and a subtle trail of sparkles, wearing cloth robes, dated 2009.

digitally-drawn character sheet—a full body colored view of Eratos, folding his arms while squinting and smirking, in a short cloth robe/wrap and sandals, next to a handful of sketched expressions. Text reads:

ERATOS.
Age: 13,074,384,338 years (and counting).
Height: 6'3”.
Gender: Male.
Birthday: April 10th.
Occupation: Angel.
Hometown: Elysia.
An oddball of an immortal, Eratos doesn't care much for social norms, and despite his age tends to act like a five-year-old—curious, goofy, stubborn, defiant, and overly obsessed with Pokémon.

rendered digital drawing of Eratos and Turlock standing shoulder to shoulder (Eratos resting his arm on one of Turlock’s shoulders and smiling mischievously, while Turlock looks reserved and uncertain). Turlock, ginger-haired and pale-skinned, is wearing glasses, a long red scarf, and a long suit coat jacket.

Turlock and Eratos in colorful robes and a more refined art style—Turlock has browner skin in this variation, and Eratos is more tan.

3 digital sketches of a woman with long hair, large hoop earrings and a septum ring; she's wearing a cropped white tank top, and one arm is tattooed with a long swirl and star.

Not sure how much of the month I’ll commit to, but 1: fav OC — gotta be my disaster telepath Rylan :’) (he is tired of hearing everybody’s thoughts all the time) #art #bweirdOCtober #bweirdOCtober2026 #OCsky

digital colored drawing of a young man with light brown skin, angular features, and a partly-dyed-pink undercut/mullet, sitting on a ledge and leaning forward, resting his head onto one hand. he looks tired, glancing off to the side.

digital colored sketch of Ralsei, a goat-like character, looking troubled. he has green glasses and a neon-pink scarf on, along with a long-sleeved green and black tunic.

little post about being a genetic mutant (but the superpower is just a predisposition for cancer 🥲) if you think extra cancer risk might run in your family, see if genetic testing + counseling might be right for you! @facingourrisk.bsky.social bit.ly/force-NHCW #NationalHereditaryCancerWeek #BRCA1

Cartoon drawing of Ash in black-and-white, climbing up with determination between two spiraling strands in teal and pink (previvor colors)—they evoke ribbons, or a DNA helix.

Text reads: September 30th is Previvor Day (someone who has an elevated risk of developing cancer, but has not been diagnosed with cancer).

The same cartoon drawing of Ash.

Text reads: "You have an inherited high risk for several kinds of cancers" isn't something you want to hear.
But at the same time, having that knowledge empowers you to take charge.

The same cartoon drawing of Ash.

Text reads:

Being a previvor is a weird in-between.
You don't have cancer; out you do still have appointments, lab work, scans, surgeries, and the spectrum of feelings that come with the territory.
It's grief, and fearing your future... and, it's also the bravery in facing it anyway, defying the odds on purpose.

whoa, here she comes, watch out, boy—she’ll chew you up! #art #metroid

Digital artwork of Samus Aran from Metroid Ravenous in an action stance, sporting her sleek blue-and-white power suit but wearing no helmet. The view is foreshortened with her clawed left hand toward us, neon pink and ablaze with glowing energy trailing behind it. It illuminates the side of her face.

…I started this yesterday 🌝

Metroid Dread clear screen, with a time of 04:41:45 on normal mode. See you next mission! (In the background, a Pride flag is illuminated by the bokeh effect of fairy lights.)

wanted to draw Samus wearing this, accidentally made her an evil jock ?

digital drawing of Samus Aran, wearing a metal-style “Girl Dinner” crop top and shorts rather than her power suit. She’s holding the iconic helmet under the crook of one arm, so her stance and outfit (plus the 90s teal/purple/magenta color scheme—inspired by the Metroid Ravenous cover art) make her look like if a basketball player was a deranged vampire, who also has claws, and horns along her shoulders, and feathers sprouting out in various places. a bit of blood dribbles out the corner of her mouth.

I didn't even realize it was Metroid's 40th anniversary yesterday when I started this lol. I am just always thinking about her #art

digital drawing by ashrowan.design of Samus Aran, a blond white woman, viewed from the side while pulling her hair up into a ponytail. The background is blurred teals, yellows, pinks, and blues, with some wide rectangular brushstrokes of each for emphasis; a group of vibrant, neon green streaks highlights her eye area as if to mimic her visor.

the same drawing again, but this time it's only the flat colors, no lighting or shading, and the background is white; the line art is more emphasized here, carving out the curves of her muscles, and the frenetic energy of the strands of her hair flying out behind her, as if frozen in time.

kinda blacked out and drew a whole motorbike, didn’t know I could do that tbh?? biker Samus is just that powerful #art #metroid

digital drawing of Samus Aran in motorcycling gear, that’s colored to resemble her Varia Suit. the jacket has pointed shoulders and is left open to show a jeans / top combo that evokes her Fusion Zero Suit. the bike also looks vaguely like her ship!

two more for #ArtFight (go #TeamComedy!) :] characters belong to @feather-dancer.bsky.social (Nasuka) and Lamb_does_art (Milo) #art

digital, semi-realistic drawing of a red-crowned crane in flight, seen from above. her back and neck are criss-crossed with a red tasseled cloth/ribbon.

digital simple-style drawing of a cartoon yellow cat with red-orange mouth and pawprint. he is drawn like a sticker with a cast shadow beneath it, and doodles of stars around him; hand letters say “Milo!” at the bottom. the swirls in the lowercase I and the bottom of the exclamation point match the swirls of blush on his face.

my kids are re-watching Steven Universe, and I always love listening to the end credits song as if it's in conversation with this one 😌

It's You I Like

Written by Fred Rogers | © 1971, Fred M. Rogers

It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair
But it's you I like
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys
They're just beside you.

But it's you I like
Every part of you.
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new.
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself
It's you.
It's you I like.

"Love Like You"
(from "Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1" soundtrack)

If I could begin to be
Half of what you think of me
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love

When I see the way you act
Wondering when I'm coming back
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love like you
(Love like you)

I always thought I might be bad
Now I'm sure that it's true
'Cause I think you're so good
And I'm nothing like you

Look at you go
I just adore you
I wish that I knew
What makes you think I'm so special

If I could begin to do
Something that does right by you
I would do about anything
I would even learn how to love

When I see the way you look
Shaken by how long it took
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love like you

Love like you
Love me like you

reminds me of my man Calvin:

calvin and hobbes strip, where calvin and susie are in class.
calvin: “what grade did you get?”
susie: “I got an A.”
calvin: “really? boy, I’d hate to be you. I got a C.”
susie: “Why on earth would you rather get a C than an A?!”
calvin: “I find my life is a lot easier the lower I keep everyone’s expectations.”

I love this look sooo much

Lupita Nyong’o in a full length, shoulder-less, metallic gold-filigree dress, with a matching gold and pearl choker. She’s also holding an Odyssey book clutch.

Lupita again, cropped in a little closer. She has one hand on her hip and is gazing off to one side, so you can see the architectural shape of her hair—it’s reminiscent of Nefertiti’s sculpted bust.

lots to ponder on here!! “fix your body, never the world,” the grifting paradigm says. when actually: “your account of your own body [is] the starting point, rather than the thing to be corrected.”

The essay is not indicting restriction. It's indicting control and domination — eating as a way to impose order on a world you've decided is chaotic, to perform dominance over other people, to grift the insecure, and to shame everyone whose body works differently.
"No excuses." "You should have hit the gym, too, bro." Fix your body, never the world.

Ten of Roots (Coins) - an abundance of feathered and flying things, is the first thing I notice 😄 A reminder of the connectedness of it all—and the place where dualities meet. “The Earth is not only alive, but hungry.”

Linocut tarot card, Ten of Roots, labeled “Wealth.” Mayan and Aztec iconography as well as hummingbirds and a quetzal surround the kapok tree, its roots in the underworld, flowering with a human heart.

Four of Horns (Cups) - perhaps lacking in energy, or unaware of/untrusting of new possibilities. but grounding and stabilizing can open new paths, within and without. “For the time being, the only way to move forward is to stand still.”

linocut card, the Four of Horns, labeled “Apathy.” A musk ox lies alone next to a lake, where birds are trying to tip water onto him or get him to notice the three cups of water before him, but he remains placid.
