everyday i wake up so happy because i remember that girls exist and they're so pretty and i get to kiss them and that's really cool

Because that costs money and Sony was already upset they didn't see a gazillion dollar profit in 4 picoseconds. That's what they do nowadays. If it doesn't return a high enough profit fast enough, they abandon the game and shut the studio down. Sony, Xbox, Activision, EA... They all do it.

Personally, I think the AI content label is much better, and easier to enforce, then a full ban as people will just do it anyway. In my opinion, there are worse things Valve has done to be mad at, if those are the sorts of hills someone wants to die on.

Just because a popular game uses AI, doesn't mean they should have nor does it mean we have to accept the usage of generative AI. Everyone has their own limits and lines. I'm merely offering one possible answer as to why someone might be unhappy with Valve.

Valve is far from a perfect company, despite the glazing everyone gives it. There are many reasons why someone would be unhappy with them. Mostly, it's smaller things that tend to affect more niche areas but there are general things like allowing games made with AI to be sold at all and whatnot.

The Steam Machine is not nor was it ever advertised as a console. It is not competing with Xbox or PlayStation or the Switch 2. It is a small form factor Gaming PC entering the market of prebuilt Desktops like Alienware and iBuyPower. Anybody who didn’t realize that is oblivious.
