solved my “draw lines harder until they look right” problem by getting myself some pale blue pencils, so now I can be as ridiculous as I want and then trace the correct line

In the sketchbook is an outlined drawing of an American Robin in pale blue, with thick, rough outlines. I’ve started outlining the head in a single stroke with a .3mm graphite pencil.

working on a spot of branding today with esteemed colleagues

I’m sitting astride an old wooden bench, wearing jeans, a partially blank sketchbook open between my legs and a brown canvas pencil pouch in front of me. Just visible in the sketchbook is a spread of capital Rs scribbled in black brush pen.

a wee header update: a Magpie Shrike in the Maasai Mara, October 2022
