You had done everything you could to put him out of your mind, but Kaeya had never done the same. Even now he was probably still punishing himself and you knew this wasn’t something you’d be able to fix.
There were times when you hated the way he’d look at you like you were his whole world. Even at his worst he’d still look at you with the same level of adoration he had back then and it cut you deeper than his betrayal had. You were convinced there wasn’t a thing in the world you could do that would shake his faith in you and it was terrifying to hold that much power over someone. Especially after you had already burned them as bad as you could stomach.
