Me to a student: do you have older siblings? Him: yeah why? Me: you give off strong youngest brother vibes

Why is it always the dads at drop-off who think the rules don't apply to them? They can park and drive where we've been told not to. They can leave their kids at the wrong spot instead of walking them inside. It's always dads.

The Gate. I saw it once maybe 7 years old and it scared me, and later maybe 11 and was sure I'd have grown up enough not to get scared this time, and I was very wrong lol

i've had versions of the conversation before HR was on friggin' HBO, but since it's more "oh! like heated rivalry?" so i wasn't expecting the original conversation anymore

lol no i was just trying to politely get him to move to the next author - sometimes you just know you've got nothing for someone haha and try to point them to authors who are more their cup of tea

Everyone: did you catch the pens game last ni-- Me: no. I don't like your team. People who don't like your team don't watch your team. Unless you're playing my team, the answer is always no (I usually just stop talking after the first "no")

It's otherwise pretty historically accurate so these things are like ??????? like I'll take interpretations of personality but these are facts. Facts!!!!!

The res gestae aren't on the mausoleum of Augustus!!! The copy we have is from a temple in Turkey!! The pantheon was originally built by agrippa BUT it was redone by Hadrian. He's the one who did the dome!! They made fun of him for his "little pumpkins"!!!

I completely did this to myself because I thought it would look pretty 🥲 no pattern, just me picking colors

I'm just doing this one thing with it and it's awful 😔 my mistake for choosing it - but I'll have to try splicing it next project (if there ever is a next project with it 🤪)

I got a coupon at the craft store - any recommendations for tools or supplies to get? I embroider, cross stitch, book bind... What kind of thing would be a good addition??

I swear I would never water damage a book on purpose 😔 but it did turn out pretty well recovery wise 😊

A water bottle mishap on the way to the kids' sports stuff resulted in a ruined cover of Otar 2 by @jd-rivers.com - salvaged the book with a rebind 😊

A.L. Heard // NO LINE CHANGE coming Oct 6 @ashheardwrites.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I try not to check them because reviews are for other readers or notes like you said. Like it's almost not my business 😂 but this is the one time in the process I kind of have to, I just hate it and will be glad to go back to blissfully pretending they don't exist lol

010

A.L. Heard // NO LINE CHANGE coming Oct 6 @ashheardwrites.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

alas, i know better, but when a new book comes out i kind of have to look for promo materials. i hate it 😢 and ditto - most ppl (myself included) only tag authors to say YAAAAY YAY YAY YAY so it's a way different experience XD

111

A.L. Heard // NO LINE CHANGE coming Oct 6 @ashheardwrites.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

(i don't mean if people tag me or reach out to me specifically - those are usually positive experiences. i mean when i go to goodreads or amazon or whatever and read through whatever is posted there. it's just very overwhelming, even if they say positive things the negative is ACK)

110

A.L. Heard // NO LINE CHANGE coming Oct 6 @ashheardwrites.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

ohhhh right i hate reading reviews of my own books. whoops

My hockey romances start with teammates who become something more. Sometimes the shift is gradual, sometimes quick, but what does it look like from the outside? Here are some things other members of the Albuquerque Turkeys might notice between Dylan and Henri - which trio is the most suspicious 🤔
